Just hope she doesn't start drinking again.

I would hope not, I can't think of any problems that drinking has made better.

Nonsense. It made the chick I hooked up with last night look alot prettier.

And strangely your drunk chick thought you were quite handsome.
I don't understand why anybody thinks she was obligated to announce to the world that she has diabetes.

She sells cookbooks with recipes for fattening food, and obesity is thought to be the primary cause of type 2 diabetes. After the announcement, Paula went on a diet, lost like 30 pounds, and made an effort to bring awareness to the problem. One of her son's had a show called something like "Not My Mama's Meals" where he gave healthier alternative versions of his mom's recipes.

As it turns out the diabetes admission only helped the family business. Don't let the hillbilly schtick fool you, Paula and her team are pretty media savvy, I think she will come out of the whole "slave wedding" thing just fine. Maybe a Fox News cooking show?

It takes longer to vote more than once.

Robert Byrd.

If one is a well known liberal racist, their racism is ignored. They not only keep their jobs, they get promoted.
And Pope Benedict was at one time a member of the Hitler Youth, as a young man Saint Paul persecuted Christians, and the guy that wrote the words to "Amazing Grace" was at one time the captain of a slave ship. Sometimes people just have a change of heart.

Or maybe they just get away with it because they are liberals!

As usual, you missed or deflected away from my point. Byrd's career was not destroyed by his decades-long well-known history of racism.

Which he renounced, in words and deeds. Recall that this man lived 92 years.

Perhaps you are unaware of what Christians refer to as redemption and attonement. Each person can decide for themself if it has occurred in others, but I think I saw it in Sen. Byrd.

Paula Deen may achieve those states as well someday. Currently, however, she appears stuck in deep denial.
Why is it that when white people use the N word it's racist, but when blacks use it, it's acceptable?

Why do blacks get BET and the Black Mensa Group? If whites tried to start WET, all hell would break loose. And why do smart people need to segregate themselves from other Mensa meeting? Isn't that racist as well?

No, I did not major in U.S. History lol

But I think it has to do with 300 years of white people owning black people as human slaves.

Followed by another 100 years of white people murderously subjugating black people through segregationist policies known as Jim Crow.

Apparently these centuries of oppression somehow caused lingering societal differences between these races. Weird how the effects of 400 years of institutionalized racism doesn't disappear quickly, huh?

I think it's related to that somehow, you might want to check though.

Paula would just love that joke. I bet you two have a lot in common.

300-400 years? I'm pretty sure none of us were alive then.
I did nothing to enslave anyone but I can be called a cracker by a black person and it's ok.
At some point black ppl need to stop hating the white race living today for what their ancestors did.

I have many black friends who have told me that they know many other blacks who simply hate white ppl.
But it's ok, right?
