Kroger, has been collecting plastic bags for a number of years now.

FWIW, Wash your cloth bags after each use and you won't get any contamination from the bag onto the meat. However, you need to get meats into a nice cold fridge/freezer w/in 60 minutes of purchase or you can have some of those nasty microbes doing the horizontal bop and being quite the happy little critters.

IMHO, bring back paper bags! Easy to recycle, get more in a bag, and will piss off all of those green folks.

Whole Foods is "green folks" and they only use paper bags.

Yeah, that icon prohibiting littering really has me steamed. Wow, if that isn't the Nanny State in action!

Uh you must not live in a southern state. That is a "no watering" icon.
Chalk me up under the "cloth bags are great" column. I've been using cloth bags for years and really appreciate the fact that I don't have dozens of plastic bags cluttering up my home, in addition to all the environmental benefits. I've done enough beach cleanups to know how depressingly ubiquitous plastic bags are along the shoreline, especially after a storm.

For the person who uses plastic bags to dispose of cat litter, I suggest Feline Pine or some other wood-based cat litter. Solid waste can go into the toilet, liquid waste gets absorbed, and the used litter can be composted.

And show common sense, people, by washing your cloth bags once in a while. Spotted, smelly grocery bags are just gross.
The Nanny State:

______NO PLASTIC !__YOU VILL OBEY !_______
Bags is full of surprises.

Karen, Whole Foods is only in them big cities. We are considered a medium to small sized one so you either go East or South to find one.
