Democrats voting against any type of government spending is performing an unnatural act on their part.

Selective closures and furloughs being done are just that. Selective. Pick stuff that will make people angry and hope the MSM blames those not responsible for them. Demonize them for trying to stop what you are doing, all the while claiming they are doing it, and hope the MSM shoves that crap down the collective throats of the citizens of this country. The MSM is an absolute accomplice to the fraud that is Obama and the Democrat party...
Really? Look what I found in the Rupert Murdoch's Wall Street Journal:

Careful Forkush......when you shove actual facts and figures at the right winger and tea bagger sheep.....they tend to get all flustered and discombobulated.

Next thing you know......we'll get a long winded, confusing, and contradictory 3 paragraph statement from Appalachian Country !
At this point, everything comes down to one person: John Boehner. He knows that if he puts a clean bill in front of the House, they will pass it. So why doesn't he? Is he that fond of the Tea Party minority in the House? I doubt it. He's only interested in himself, and in saving his position as Speaker, which he will likely lose to Cantor anyway in the future. So Boehner is the perfect poster child for the Republicans and their followers. Their solipsistic attitude is the epitome of supreme selfishness. As someone as said, the motto of the Tea Baggers is "Do what I tell you and leave me alone."

I have often wondered if people become Republicans because they are evil, or if people turn evil after they become Republicans?
How many of these morons have been in office more than one term? OK then. The fault for all this falls squarely on OUR shoulders. We must, somewhere down deep, have a morbid desire to perpetuate this bullshit. We keep sending them back. We only need to exercise our power to vote new blood in to put a stop to this nonsense. If the new batch does the same thing, we vote THEM out. Soon a batch will get the message.
I had planned to go out to Death Valley for a day during my Vegas trip next week. Guess that ain't gonna happen.

Actually, its the newest batches of people that are the primary problem. That was also the case the last time we has a government shutdown. The older guys have been around long enough to understand how things get done in Washington....and how they don't.

The rookies in Congress might want to listen to the people who witnessed this same scenario play out 17 years ago...and how it ended.

Yeah, you share the blame, but not in the way you think.

When you fault both sides, you are effectively faulting no one, letting the guilty off the hook. And you're just engaging in false equivalence. One side of this argument wants to enforce a law passed by the House and Senate, signed by the President, and found constitutional by the Supreme Court. The other side says that if they can't nullify all of that, the government will remain shut down.

So maybe the problem is the people YOU have been voting for, and the issues you've supported. I mean, you did vote for the guys who were gung-ho for Iraq, Wall Street Deregulation, the Patriot Act, and the shut down, right?

Maybe you should stick to voting on American Idol. You can't do to much damage there.

Where's Day 4, DonDiego? After all, you were so diligent about days one, two, and three. And we need to hear that since you toilet still flushes and since your icebox is still cold, and since you still have plenty of duct tape, everything is right in the world.

Have a great day, DonDiego!
DonDiego thanks forkushV for noticing poor old DonDiego's absence from the internets.

DonDiego's toilet functioned fine on Day 4 of The Obama Refusal to Negotiate Era.

On Day 5 DonDiego presumes his toilet remains functional and his icebox chilled. However, the Sun did rise on DonDiego somewhere in the vicinity of the Delaware Park Racino, . . . and the hotel toilet, surprisingly, worked just fine also.
Delaware has instituted NFL betting! The gimmick is only 3-or-more-team Parley Bets. DonDiego will be monitoring the NFL scores as teechur and he watch the Eagles/Giants compete tomorrow afternoon.
As the shadows lengthen on ORNE Day 5 teechur and DonDiego find themselves ensconced on a high floor in yet another hotel, . . . this one with a clear view of the NYC skyline to the East and the Giants MetLife Stadium to the West.

Everything is, indeed, right in DonDiego's world. DonDiego thanks forkushV, again.

(The White House) The petulant man child who occupies the White House is throwing a tantrum. It isn't the first time he has intentionally hurt people in this country, and it won't be the last as long as some people remain blind to what is really happening.

Yesterday DonDiego spoke with a pleasant teller while placing his NFL parlay bets who mentioned that her son in Afghanistan can no longer watch NFL games. The televised contests have been turned off, . . . by the authority of whom?

Why does pjstroh insist on making up things, . . . like ascribing to poor old DonDiego things he never wrote and thoughts he never had? [This is a rhetorical question.]

__DonDiego did not say "harsh words" preclude negotiations. However, harsh words do suggest those employing them have no intention to negotiate.

__DonDiego said nothing about anyone's feelings being hurt. This is meaningless twaddle!

__DonDiego's "German words", (as best he recalls "Außer für Englisch und Deutsch Was ist wichtig"), had nothing to do with President Obama. They addressed another poster's mention of foreign languages.

__President Obama submitted the FY2012 late; it was voted down by the Democrat-led Senate 97–0. President Obama submitted the FY2013 budget late; it was defeated in the House of Representatives414-0.
President Obama submitted the FY2014 budget 2 months late; the House and Senate had already proposed and debated their own preliminary budgets.

__Re: the present Continuing Resolution impasse.

The House passed a CR delaying the implementation of Obamacare by 1 year. The Senate removed that provision and passed a Bill without it, and sent it back to the House.
This is customary and not at all unprecedented. Normally negotiations follow. The Senate refuses to negotiate. The President refuses to negotiate.
This is unusual, but also not unprecedented. In fact, the procedures to proceed with really necessary Government functions is provided for; that is why the shutdown is not total and calamitous.

To implement additional government functions, . . . like things even pjstroh et. al. want, the Republicans have passed bills funding them.
A bill supporting the military passed both houses.
A bill providing for opening the National Monuments is held up in the Senate. A bill providing for paying the National Guard and reserves is held up in the Senate. A bill providing for funding the NIH is held up in the Senate.
The Republicans offer to negotiate. Senator Reid and President Obama refuse to negotiate. President Obama states "I shouldn’t have to offer anything”.
Nothing happens.

DonDiego is not particularly upset. Although not a religious man himself, DonDiego recognizes religious folks are not necessarily simpletons, . . . . and occasionally even wise:
"God, give me grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.

For the record: DonDiego suspects that a 1-year delay in implementing Obamacare, equal to the delay already granted to businesses, would probably be beneficial altogether. It would actually give the insurance plant a better chance of being implemented more effectively and positively. [Of course, DonDiego would prefer the idea be dropped altogether, but he sees benefit in a delay for folks affected and all political sides.]
IF you are a furloughed government employee, here is your

#1 Benefit

IF you are not a government employee, or a furloughed government employee, you can probably lie and still receive the benefit.

Or not.
