Has anyone cut the cord on cable?

I live in a Condo on the top floor, nothing special about that, But I recieve over the air " free "
tv signals from about 20 channel programmings, I get CBS, NBC,ABC,FOX, 2 music channels, and about 10 other very good varity channels along with local Minneapolis/St.Paul programming and the weather channel, I am happy with no cable bill per month at all and would never pay it just to get a few more channels, I even get the old "tv land " channel.
You can still use your Comcast internet connection without having the cable. At least that's how it works with Cox. I'm ready to give them up for Direct TV, and I asked Cox if I could keep the phone and internet connection, and they said I could. Maybe it's different elsewhere.

I'm really tired of spending $170 a month for cable service when Direct gives you everything for $65 a month and free movie channels for 3 months. They also give you the NFL feed and red zone for free!
Hey folks - long time no see.

Here is what my experience has been. We got tired of the 160 dollar a month cable/internet bill. We dont really watch all that much TV. We wrote down a list of the programs that we couldnt do without and checked whether or not they were on line and 97% of them were.

So I ordered the Clear modem and was expecting good things, especially since we have line-of-site to the cell towers. Set it up and unplugged the cable modem and tested it for 3 days with 3 computers at the same time. Worked fantastic!!

Then the wife got back from California and when she and the teen-aged son were on while I was, we had significant loading issues. I guess for us, 5 MB bandwidth was not sufficient.

So we dropped all Cox services EXCEPT the internet and have not missed it a bit. We see most of the shows we want, just the next day.

Clear was $49/month no contract and Cox is $56/ a month no contract but the Cox bandwidth is 3 times Clear's.

Thanks Ody. I'm making the call to Verizon today. I think I can get internet service from Verizon Fios for around $60 plus tax. Watching my antenna service as I write this. Weird I can't get a decent signal from PBS which is only 13 miles from my home. That's using my Leaf Plus indoor antenna that has a boaster.I'll definitely miss cable stations and my local sports. Oh well hopefully this will be a short-term experiment. Saving $100 month is large for me now.

DonDiego bundles. All his neighbors bundle. The neighborhood is quite content.

I cut the cord on Time Warner 10 years ago and added Dish. Best thing I've done, besides coming to Vegas. Once going Satellite, will never go back to cable.
Anyone one else with advice on the various streaming services? As I stated I won't be able to afford both internet and cable/satellite. Considering Hulu Plus, Netflix, Amazon Prime. I'll be watching 98% TV shows and an occasional movie.
Netflix is the deal of the century. $8.00 a month for all you can watch. You can watch many great series start to finish without commercials. Others such as "Lillyhammer" are original programming that is pretty darn good. Not to mention the movies they offer.

My advice if you have a BluRay or some other means of streaming sign up for the Netflix free trial and see how you like it. IMHO after having Netflix for a year I realize how badly cable was/is cramming it in me.

BTW I found the ROKU players to be the best for streaming Netflix and Sony products to be the worst. ROKU uses adaptive streaming which means it increases or decreases picture quality on the fly based on your internet speed. 99% of the time I am getting good to great quality.

I had a lot of buffering issues with Sony products. I read that Sony routes everything through their servers to limit piracy. I can't verify that.

We watch Netflix almost exclusively.
