I just don't see this fast food worker being worth $15/hr(non-Vegas)

Some would say 40 hours a week of hard physical labor is earning it.

Not so it all. I believe the ditch digger should be paid a wage that allows him or her to live a life free of government assistance not that he or she should be paid the same as a brain surgeon. $15 an hour is roughly $31k a year a brain surgeon I suspect makes 500k to upwards of a million. In other words I am asking them to be paid 6% of the wage of a brain surgeon on the bottom end of brain surgeons.

So there you have it, in one corner the thought is it should be earned and in the other that it should be given no matter what.

In all honesty I've worked with a few guys who weren't even worth five bucks an hour, one I remember was so stupid he could've been an extra in the movie Idiocracy and the others were just plain lazy and would do the absolute bare minimum of work. It's funny, the lazy guys were always the ones constantly bitching about how thet're so over worked, didn't make enough money, the boss is always coming down on me blah, blah, blah. Constantly.

I wasn't aware that flippng burgers was so physically demanding or required such a high level of intelligence.

Cleaning Up a Broken CFL (per the EPA)...
Which has nothing to do with it. In the study, when "conservatives" shopped for incandescent light bulbs, they avoided the ones that promised environmental benefits. So when Boilerman said he wanted more pollution, was he being sarcastic? Hard to tell.
Only those with simple minds believe that Conservatives want dirty air and water.

Seriously? What a load of crap. I bet you do that study five different times and you get five different results. That's completely stupid to say conservatives avoid light bulbs because they're better for the environment. I wonder if they asked about pricing in that study.

I remember when those things first came out I was all excited at the aspect of not having to change the light bulbs very often so I plunked down the 15 bucks for one ,installed it in the laundry room and sure enough if the damn thin g didn't burn out a month and half later. No thanks, I have better luck with the old kind and will use them til they're not available anymore. The environment has nothing to do with it. Unless they've changed drstically, the claim those things last so much longer is BS.

Well that went right over your head.

Well here's another 12,500 or so good paying jobs gone bye bye.

Microsoft plans to slash up to 18,000 jobs

..." "We are moving now to start reducing the first 13,000 positions, and the vast majority of employees whose jobs will be eliminated will be notified over the next six months," Nadella wrote. "It's important to note that while we are eliminating roles in some areas, we are adding roles in certain other strategic areas."

Nadella explained the cuts, saying they "simplify the way we work to drive greater accountability, become more agile and move faster." Microsoft will also have fewer layers of management, he said.

About 12,500 of the cuts will result from the company's "synergies and strategic alignment" with Nokia Devices and Services, Nadella said. Microsoft announced that it would acquired Nokia in September 2013.

Translation our shareholders want our stock prices to go up so we are cutting positions and going to pile more work on the peons.

IMHO if windows 8 wasn't such a piece of shit maybe they wouldn't have to do this. I mean damn, if I want to use a tablet , I'll use a tablet. No need to turn my laptop into one with a pain in the ass touchscreen operating system.

A lot of the jobs being cut are duplicates from when they absorbed Nokia

I actually like the new bulbs, I replaced all of the ones in the house except for the 2, 3way lamps and they have been on for 2 years running. They don't last near as long on the 3 way fixtures. 1 or 2 of the "ways" don't work fairly quickly.
