I need restaurant advice

The only other place that comes to mind, is close to the Mirage, and has rooms for big groups is the Grand Lux at the Venetian. I don't think anybody would be dissapointed in the food there.
Andrew, while I love the idea and would prefer it over Italian (which I love), I need to find a restaurant which all or most of my 16 guys will like. I may may a trip over to the Seafood Shack with a few guys during the weekend when the entire group isn't together. I love clams, mussels, lobster and prawns.

Been to Maggiano's in Vegas about 5 or 6 times now (once per trip).

From the Mirage, it will be very quick (take free Tram to TI, escalator up to north exit of TI and then take footbridge across street to front of Fashion Show Mall). Walk up one flight at the mall and Maggiano's is directly in the front of the mall overlooking the Strip.

They do have some outside seating overlooking the strip and Wynn, but they also have a number of small private rooms for small groups and functions.

I've always found the food, service, and prices to be excellent. Never left there unsatisfied, that's why I always make an effort to get back there.

No one has mentioned Raos.

This is helpful. I've never been to this Maggiano's, but have enjoyed my meal the few times I've eaten at the restaurant in other towns. Thanks.

After considering everyone's suggestions and ideas, I narrowed my decision to Maggiano's and Carmine's. Since I have a group of 17, I liked the idea of both of these "family style" joints. Both restaurants receive great reviews on Yelp and Tripadvisor, so I picked the one closest to our hotel.

About the only negative reviews at Carmine's was regarding the family style portions. In fact, it made some folks downright mad. Family style is perfect for our large group, however, plus I've asked to sit in the middle of the largest room. This room seats about 350, and the entire place seats 800 (27,000 square feet). Obviously, I wasn't searching for quite and intimate, but just the opposite. I wanted our group in the middle of a noisy bunch of people.

Thank you for all of the advice, and I'll report back after our August 29 dinner.
Ate at Carmines in Atlantic City 2 weeks ago. Outstanding food.
Moppy, that's great to hear.

Can you give me a little help here? When I show up with 17 guys, how much should we order. We'll want appetizers, salad, pasta and entree. We're in our 50's, so we don't eat as much as we did 30 years ago, but we'll eat well.

Can you give me suggestions of how many of each course should we order..........appetizers, salad, yada yada yada.

Thank, Moppy.

Maggiano's serves family style. Depending if you choose the classic (choose 3 apps/salads, 2 pastas, 2 meats, 2 desserts) or Premium (the same, but includes the veal entrees/seafood) everything is brought out multiple times until you are full.

We order the classic. We likes the sausage and peppers, fried mozzarella, stuffed mushrooms, Maggiano salad, chopped salad, Momma's lasagna with bolognese sauce, baked ziti, fettucine Alfredo, parmasan crusted tilapia, chicken parm, chicken marsala, tiramisu profiteroles, and the apple crostada. You can view the choicces online. This is the best deal

If everyone likes red wine, we really like the Mieomi pinot noir (about $50 bottle in Chicago) or the MacMurray Ranch (less). That would keep you well under the $75 max unless you plan to drink like fish, lol!

Thanks Teach, but we're going to Carmines.
