Legalizing, changing laws, new rules etc. etc.

DonDiego proposes the U.S. Government provide a full-time driver for each citizen aged 62 or over.

And they should be in uniform, perhaps beautiful white jackets with a black bow tie would be impressive. And this policy would lower unemployment.
I'll be 63 in a little over two months. I drive 140 miles to work & back each day, 5 days a week. The last auto accident I had was when I was 21 years old. Almost every morning, as I'm driving home after working the midnight shift, with the cruise control set on 65 mph, I see people whizzing by me, passing on the right, weaving in-and-out of traffic, tailgating, cutting off other cars, driving extremely recklessly. I also see accidents almost every week, sometimes several in a week, some serious. They usually involve younger drivers who, I'm speculating, left home a little later than they should have and were in a hurry to get to work on time. Their vision was probably fine...
Whatever. I'm not apologizing for the post again.
I don't think you have anything to apologize for treegirl. I agree, older drivers (and I'm one of them) need to be tested (It would sure make the conversation with their kids about leaving the driving to others a lot easier). I just wanted to add that there are other drivers out there that could use some "supervision", too. k
