Here in Illinois/Iowa I notice a lot of slow traffic in the left lane even when there are just two lanes going each way. I end up passing on the right side more than I care to. A couple winters ago I came up to a slow moving semi in the left lane. It was throwing off too much slush for me to feel safe in passing it, so I pulled behind it in the left lane to let more aggressive drivers pass us on the right.

Poking in the left lane seems to be a fairly recent practice. Don't recall this happening years ago.

But she wasn't cited for speeding. She was cited for driving too slowly in the left lane.

At this point in the thread, that basic fact should be known to everyone.
