they get most of their dealers from the other bazillion Harrah's owned casinos, and run their poker rooms really short handed during the WSOP.

That was KarenTN's response to the same question on 5/25/11. I think you should start doing your submissions Quarterly and really light a fire under those QOD people.

except today I didn't use the word 'bazillion'.

Did you know Liberace's first name was Wladziu?

Everyone knows that.

Not everyone knows that.

Yes, we all know and I mean everybody....

I took a poll at my work. No one knew.
Chilcoot:

Certainly agree with you...just thought I'd let a little steam out as good-natured and innocently as possible.

Karen:

I no doubt believe that's exactly how they do it, but it would be nice to confirm. However, no one will ever accuse Caesars of being extravagant with their pay and for a dealer to be flown in whether it be from Tunica, Atlantic City, or the like, it certainly wouldn't seem prudent to fly all these people out, house them, feed them, and pay them for just a couple weeks or months....but what do I know...hence the question.

BTW - Miss you. Hope to run in to you again someday soon. Get the house finally squared away?
Let's all submit this question. I'm doing it now. It's a very good question from one of my favorite posters.

Samuel Gompers: "You can't do it unless you organize."

Seriously? What planet do you work on?

they make a ton of money from the WSOP. the cost of flying them out is a drop in the bucket compared to that. And it doesn't cost them much of anything to set aside rooms in the IP or some of the crappier rooms in the Flamingo or the Bally's South Tower or even the Rio to house them in. I don't know if they feed them beyond the Employee Dining Room. And I doubt if they pay them more than their hourly rate they earn at their home casinos. I think it's the tips that are the draw for the dealers to go. Apparently WSOP tips are better than run of the mill every day poker room tips.

I gotta agree with Snidely... I asked 12 people I know (all musicians) here in Canada and nobody knew.

Perhaps YOUR planet is the odd one ?

Perhaps YOUR planet is the odd one ?

1. It wasn't a question aboot Beer or Hockey, so that's understandable.
2. On My planet everyone's first name is Wladziu...so it's a pretty easy question for us.

I did not know.
I don't think I really needed to know either.

I can answer your question.

The previous answers are mostly incorrect.

There are many dealers who make a circuit of WSOP events, and other tournament events held under other auspices.
Anotherwords, it's largely a pool of freelance tournament dealers.

WSOP dealers find their own housing - they positively are not provided with housing by Caesars.

They get fed the same as casino employees I imagine during working hours, but I'm sure are on their own otherwise.

I can't imagine that Caesar's pays their transportation to the WSOP or back home.

I know of one who is currently dealing the WSOP, and is renting a condo with several colleagues where they are staying during the WSOP in LV.

She has a blog which is currently 1/2 a year out of date:

https://belladonkey.blogspot.com

but there's an email link and you could probably get more in depth answers if you have more questions:
