Nevada Governor signs $1.3 billion tax break package for electric car maker Tesla

Good story here about Tesla coming to Nevada.
For readers interested in relocating to take advantage of the economic boom expected from the construction/operation of the Tesla Lithium-Ion Gigafactory here's a map:

Reno/Sparka is the blue area on the upper-left; Fernley is the blue area on the upper-right corner; Lake Tahoe is at the bottom-left corner; Carson City is the blue area east of Lake Tahoe.

The Tahoe Reno Industrial Center is the irregular baby-puke green area. The upper area of the TRIC borders I-80; as best DonDiego can determine the gigafactory will be more towards the center of the TRIC, . . . and the State will improve the road leading to Route 50 [the pink line running east-northeast from Carson City] expressly for the Tesla development.

The irregular black line encompassing much of the TRIC is the outline of Storey County, home of the Mustang Ranch, . . . if one is interested in that sort of job opportunity.
I'm waiting for the Ilio. Three wheels, 84 mpg, 7K price tag.
Already 33 thousand on the waiting list.
Dealership in Shreveport?
Just don't believe the stories going around about Nevada's lithium being part of the draw for Tesla. It is a sordid tale of government lies and cheats. Nothing is as it seems.

Here's the real story. https://www.dailyjournal.net/view/story/374b12fc04394bb49f37784c99747b8b/NV--Brothel-Owner-Tesla-Dealmaker/

Most of this stems from California being 50th in the nation for being business friendly.
Happy workers make for happy cars......
The Nv. Governor has this all wrong. There are not many tree huggers in that area that'll be happy working at a place that's sure to fail. What's next, a GLOBAL WARMING think tank? Wait a minute, that fantasy never cut it, Now it's "climate change".
Tesla is not "sure to fail". Its a good company with a good product. I am far from a tree hugger but I love my Tesla, its the best car I have ever owned.

The workers do not need to be tree huggers to be happy.
Tesla is still a car for wealthier people.

Most people are worried about the following with an electric car:

1. Range. It probably isn't a car you can travel on vacation with, so you will probably need a car that takes gas.
2. Time to recharge (not just like filling the tank up)
3. Electric usage at house and bill.
4. Cost at recharging stations
5. Lack of recharging stations
6. Limited batter life and price to replace such battery
I am eagerly awaiting for Don Diego to announce his boycott of Nevada.
