Nevada Governor signs $1.3 billion tax break package for electric car maker Tesla

If a rich guy is paying 50% of his income in taxes, and suddenly the government only takes 45%, PJ believes that this is a giveaway from the government. Apparently, some Liberals believe that all personal income is the property of government to be given away as Obama sees fit.

The difference between a subsidy and a tax break is HUGE...MONUMENTAL.

Unless you're good at math...then not so much.

Saying that you do not see the difference makes me lose respect for your arguments.

Crushing - but I'm a survivor. I'll do my best to get along without your respect.

I believe most airports make money thru landing fees, rents from vendors, sales tax on sales in the airport, parking etc

Yes...and if Boilerman gets some assistance from his calculator he will see the math adds up exactly the same way as a "rich guy" paying the full 50% in taxes while receiving a check back as a 5% subsidy.

But (despite the math being the same) the first scenario helps Boilerman sleep better at night. And I'm all for that.

I do not believe in rewarding a company for being unprofitable. Tesla, for example.
