No resort fee for Diamonds, 7Stars

A friend of mine told me yesterday that last year was the first year she didn't qualify for Diamond status. She told me that they set the limits too high and it's harder to achieve.

last year, it was 11,000 tier credits for Diamond. Same as the year before. Before that it was 10,000. Hardly a giant leap.

My information is correct. But I did not post all the details here. Now I will:

If you get a comped room either on an offer, or because you are Diamond or 7Stars there are NO RESORT FEES. If you have to PAY for a room, the Resort Fee will be charged.

Now, let's look at the new information and the key line in the new info is this:

These members will have the option at check in to add the resort package to their reservation.

So, what does it mean? Well it seems to me that according to this, Platinums, Diamonds and 7Stars will not automatically be charged the resort fee, but may elect to pay it so that they can have it.

My information still stands as being correct: if you are a Diamond or 7 Stars and you came in on an offer you get the resort package and you don't pay for it. And the new info is that if you are paying for your room you have the option not to pay for it and not to have the resort package.

Okay. Thanks for the information.

Bagiant, not a harrahs know it all for sure. thought I read that it may actually be easier for many players. Something about "bonus points" that you can earn. May have to check the harrahs website for this info. I never have worried about it cause I don't gamble that kind of money. Just not enough visits with the bankroll I risk each trip.

The actual update I was passing along is that Platinum cardholders were also exempt from the resort fees. That entire tier of players was never mentioned before. I'm not here to debate you being correct or not but you failed to mention an entire tier of players in your original post.

Bonus points reward high rollers. If you earn, for example, 2500 tier points in one day playing video poker ($25,000 coin in) you get 5,000 bonus points.

Smallest bonus: earn 500 tier points ($5,000 coin in for video poker) and you get a bonus of 125 points.
Middle bonus: earn 1,000 tier points ($10,000 coin in for video poker) and you get a bonus of 1,000 points.

But by raising the necessary tier points they will actually make it harder for lower level players to reach the higher levels of Diamond and 7 Stars. They might say they are making it "easier" but that's only to encourage you to play more in each 24-hour period.
I am Diamond and will be visiting Paris in April.
I wonder if you really have to choose at check in whether or not you want to use the internet....or if you can opt-in from your room later if you choose to. I don't like the idea being pressured to make decision at Check in...lol
I guess I will find out soon.

That is new this year, isn't it? When i read Bagiant's post, he said that his friend did not do Diamond LAST YEAR because of an increase.

The bonuses help me quite a bit too, and I don't consider myself a high roller at all. My first gambling day this year I earned 2700 tier and the 5000 tier bonus.

You are correct. I did not include the information about the Platinum tier. The information I got came from the hosts' office at Caesars Palace. They did not tell me that Platinums are exempted from paying the resort fee.

So, I called the hosts' office again. And the hosts' office confirms what you said: Platinums are exempt when they come in on a comped visit.

Thank you!
