The formula is a 10 to 1 advantage in numbers AND time. We had neither, yet we won every battle and lost the war. Forkie, how many fought in Vietnam? Korea? WWII? WWI? and how many died?????
Iraq/Afghanistan is roughly 4,000 killed and about 2 million troops. (multiple deployments do count (10 deployments/10 troops))
You talk dead soldiers, I talk percentages killed, as militarily speaking that IS the number that really matters...

So how about "We regret to inform you that your percentage was killed in battle?" Well, at least it's honest.
In the 50's and 60's, the US supported lots of oppressive and murderous regimes, but the new leaders of Vietnam were going to oppress Standard Oil and United Fruit Company - and that's why we invaded.
That makes us the bad guys.
