We WILL be staying somewhere else. However, the whole point is that these fees are not disclosed up front.
If you go to hotels.com and do a search for Oct. 14 and 15 for 2 people the result you get is that the Palms is $45. Period. You think you get a great rate and click "Select". What comes up is
this page which does show a picture of a "Deluxe Room" with a single bed. Nowhere does it say "you will be charged $15 a night extra for asking for 2 small beds instead of 1 big one". Since every casino I have been to politely asks "one bed or two" on check-in (again, maybe I have lived a charmed life) without thinking about extorting extra money from you a shopper less savvy then I to the scumbaggery of hotels would likely book thinking he has gotten a $45 room. You will also notice that the $20 a night resort fee is buried deep, deep into the fine print. So the $45 room costs the unwary traveler (NOT me) $80 and yes I think that is a big deal especially as no other casino has tried this in 25 years. As you can see I am far from the only one who thinks this is a ripoff.

When I click on the link, it clearly says "Deluxe Room, King Bed $45" and immediately below that, Deluxe Room, 2 Beds $60". It's not in smaller print or anything. As long as the person making the reservation is marginally literate, I don't see how this is not upfront.

And all the other people who want to put half a dozen people in one room can choose to stay somewhere else as well. Unless they really just ned their "something to bitch about today" fix.

So in your mind a $250 cost justifies a $20 a night surcharge? Since hotels only change mattresses every 4 years or so that would be charging over $25,000 at 90% occupancy for a $250 cost.
If you think THAT is justified then I shudder to think what you would accept as a scam fee for those $1000 big screen TV's.
Still left undressed is how the vast majority of casinos manage to thrive without this scummy fee.
Until you are elected dictator, I suppose, people will be charging whatever they want to charge for the things they do for you, and if you want more of anything, expect to pay more.

When people point out to you that two beds cost more than one bed, you demand that the hotel determine exactly what the extra cost is, determine in advance exactly how many people will use the extra bed before they replace the mattress, and then pro-rate the extra cost exactly per person.

Instead of booking directly with the hotel, you would use a third party website, which nearly everyone knows is a great way to get screwed for additional fees, and then you complain about additional fees.

You, sir, are a dolt.

You may have identified the problem.

Are these the same people that bemoan the lack of in-room coffee makers in most Vegas rooms?

It's losers like you that keep these sodomite fees expanding whether it be airlines, car rentals, hotels and more. I'm booked down the street from the Palms at $36 a night with no bullshit resort fees or scam fees for 2 little beds instead of 1 big one. At a place with full pay Loose Deuces and Double Bonus. 25 years of making money at VP-I think I'm doing pretty well and my literacy is holding up quite well...
Who is sleeping in the other bed?

Sodomite?? After calling me a loser because I don't post angry rants about hotel prices, and using a word like "sodomite," to describe a fee, I'm convinced. Everyone who doesn't make the exact same choices melbe does is a sucker and a loser.

Damn, on this thread I'm a sucker and a loser.
On another I'm:
Insecure
Attention seeking
Slutty
