yes, thats what I'm asking. What audience is the black person catering too where he/she gets a paycheck to dress like a slave in formal plantation attire and serve dinner?

Is that being mouthy? I think its a pretty simple question. And one that apparently has rubbed you the wrong way.
Have you heard of Roots or Amistad?
Very high percentage black audience.

I sure did ! In fact, I saw them both. They had their own target audience too...people looking to be educated about the oppression of minorities in those respective socieites / times. But what I asked was for the target audience of a wedding with make-believe slaves as the servants.

Perhaps the theme of the wedding is the same as Roots. To educate the attendees about the oppression of black slaves in 19th century America. Hmmm. Didn't think of that. Seems a little awkward for a wedding theme - mixing the misery of slavery with the joy of marriage. Come to think of it I have a few freinds who think those two things are synonymous. But, hey, I bet the food will be great.

I would much rather be doing that than posting to the Prom King.

Yeah PJ, stop annoying the lady. I mean you ask a simple, civil, direct question - three times now - and you actually expect TG to respond. The nerve!

Hogwash! It's all about perspective and respect. Bleeding hearts view this as some sort of throwback to chains and enslavement and that would be true IFthat's how it actually went down. If the waiters are treated with no respect and harshly that would be a problem and yet I highly doubt that's what would happen. Come back and say something then because thatw ould be big news. until then..oh never mind, I know I know, jatki's a fox news watching, racist blah blah tea bagging, blah blah blah.

A lot of casting stones here, it never pays to tell the truth, now a days. I look back at the 70s and everyone I know has used the N word. But everyone I know liked black people. I used the term Jew a person down back then(I was only a teen). I truely had now idea it pertained to Jewish people. What matters is what is in ones heart. I am more of a Sticks and stones person. No one here said anything like that, and everyone reading this thread knows it. The issue is that Deen thought it would be acceptable to celebrate and ENJOY a reenactment of Antebellum plantation life and white privilege, slavery and all. What kind of person wants to do that?

Thus far treegirl has avoided answering that question. Care to step up?
