Paula Deen Has a Great Smile

Of course Paula Deen is a Democrat who actively campaigned for Obama, so there's that.
Thank you for shedding light on another in a long line of closeted Democrat bigots. Paula Deen is a Democrat who campaigned for Obama in 2008. She's no worse than NV Senator Harry Reid who said Obama was electable because of his light skin and the fact he lacks the typical "negro dialect". Also, it's curious that you never see any ethnic minorities marrying into the Kennedy family.

I respect Paula Deen for owning up to using racial slurs in the past. There are so many things worse than that and people should give her the benefit of the doubt that she's learned from past mistakes. Maybe you and your ilk's focus should be on the fact that the illegitimate birth rate among blacks has risen to 72%, 3x what it was in the mid-60s, instead of focusing on an irrelevant older white woman from south Georgia.

Um estes, Obama WAS more electable because of his light skin and lack of dialect. Darker skin African Americans also get longer prison sentences than those with lighter skin, and job applicants with "black" sounding names on their resumes are less likely to be called in for interviews as those with "white" names. Is anyone surprised?

And we got racists in the Democratic party, but just not nearly as many as in the other one.

Yes, and I'm sure Blacks that weren't "blessed" with Obama's light skin and dialect were thrilled hearing about it from one of the supposed leaders of the country.

You have more racists in your party when you account for the Black, Hispanic, and Asian racists that I'm sure you're not considering. The most racially intolerant countries on earth are non-white countries with India being the most intolerant.

Yeah, thats good to know. He can volunteer Sasha and Melia to serve at her big wedding.

Then again, maybe she was just going for a theme of Southern Opulence and Hospitality with the Wedding and just never considered the racial implications....This is as opposed to the theme of Slavery and Servititude that others seem to think was overriding motivation for her motif.

As to the 'N' word...Is it the only word that's so bad we refer to it by it's letter? Is it the worst word in the English language? If not, it's right up there. Growing up in Central California I rarely heard the 'N' word. My parents never used it. My friends never used it. Their parents never used it.

I'm sure Paula's parents used th 'N' word, their parents used it and her friends used it. When you live in the South and your Brother's name is Bubba, there's gonna be some exposure. Some people learn though. Is Paula a Racist in her open dealings with employees? Somehow I don't think so. Is she a closet racist with deep seated predjudice? Maybe.

Now, back to the 'N' word. It doesn't help race relations that some Blacks have turned the 'N' word into a way to greet or describe other Blacks....that only Blacks can legitimately use. I think it started with Black comedians using the 'N' word for shock value....then it got into more general use. I'd rather nobody used the 'N' word. It's like nails grating on glass to me.

Um Estes, they already knew about it. In the black community there's a well-known phrase that's probably older than you are that goes:

If you're light, alright.
If you're brown, stick around.
If you're black, go back.

So Harry Reid spoke an obvious truth about America, but in your world that's the equivalent to enjoying a plantation party complete with slaves. And the only people who seemed upset over Reid's statement: White Republicans.

Gee, then, I just don't know how Tim Scott and Bobby Jindal achieved such high political positions in deep South states. You're still stuck in the 50s with quotes like that. I think most people are like me and prefer character over color. I'll take an honest, humble Tim Scott for President over anyone your party would ever nominate. Especially over the arrogant, world class con artist we now have for President.

Oh let me explain. These days Republicans just love to promote people of color because they believe minorities vote based on race rather than on policy. Kind of like the way Republicans thought that women would vote for Sarah Palin because she's a woman. How'd that work out?

You have a habit of getting more nonsensical the longer you try to argue your point. It doesn't matter who you promote. It's the voters that have to be receptive and LA and SC white voters were largely receptive of Jindal and Scott.
