Plaza to charge RESORT FEE

I'd have to see the coupon book before rendering judgement. If its got a $10 matchplay in it then I'm cool with it. If its all stupid crap like discounted helicopter rides then I'm not.

If Gold Spike is a resort ($8.00 per day resort fee), Plaza is a Mega-Resort.

The problem with the rip-off fee is that not everyone uses the wifi, all things being equal. You idiots that like to give your money away can do so. I won't stay at any casino that charges a rip-off fee.
So what? Not everyone uses the pool, phone system, or fitness center either. Yet all guests pay for them.

Everyone agrees that resort fees are a nuisance. But they're easy to incorporate into one's planning. Avoiding every place that imposes a resort fee unduly denies visitors a lot of fun, inexpensive hotels.

Oh, and let this be a warning: those who do not share drmilled's opinion on something should expect his considered response to be that they must be idiots.
At least now we know how to contact Nesalk.

Originally posted by: friedmush I think we've had this discussion before. But to clarify, you would pay $99 with no resort fee to stay at, say, Flamingo rather than take an offer from a nicer property with a rate of 69 plus a $20 resort fee, right. Principal of the matter?
The $10 is OK, it's just the words "resort fee." So it's actually the vocabulary of the matter. Step on a crack, break your momma's back.

Actually, a better question would be "What if a property had a "resort fee" tower and a tower without the "resort fee?" Would you ever stay in the "resort fee" tower?

It's got two $5 matchplays...one for BJ the other for Roulette or Craps. How do I know? Because they were giving them away at check-in when I stayed there without the resort fee.

I normally don't agree with drmilled but in your case I agree with him.

This resort fee is dumb. the plaza rates aren't that low compared to other downtown hotels so this just jacks up their prices, they want to try to be an "upscale" hotel but act like a lower class hotel.

Since the plaza and lvc are sister properties I just hope that the lvc doesn't charge a crummy "resort" fee also.

Edited to add: We all should have expected this. they need some way to pay for their upgrades. But as others have said, if you compare prices you just need to add on the $10 daily fee when comparing other hotels. We do that with the spike so this is just another thing you have to remember when checking hotel rates.

I've never paid a resort fee but I have given money away. Does that mean I'm an idiot?
Makiki, the hotel at Vegas Club closed. No resort worries there.
The Plaza a resort? Not hardly unless they did some major upgrades since last sept. Anyplace you have to crawl under furniture to plug something into an outlet does not a resort make. I'm sure everyone recalls Don D.s infamous pic of his rear reaching for an outlet at the Plaza. 10 bucks a day!? HMMPH!

you are probably correct but if the lvc hotel side is closed now, it might mean that they might be refurbishing. when they do open then they might start charging the resort fee also. It might be the end of the cheap rates for the lvc.
