Please share your rental car experiences

National & Hertz have good cars and service. If you join their Hertz Gold, National Emerald Club you can earn credits to a future rental. With a 25 day rental you should be able to earn at least a week.

With Emerald, possibly Gold you can rent at the mid size rate and get an automatic upgrade to full size. With Emerald you can pick any car you want from their Emerald Aisle

I dunno, if I'm renting a car for 3+ weeks, I'll stand in a line and put up with a little inconvenience for a couple of hours.

Standing in line and being a little inconvenienced is one thing, being assigned cars that should have retired before I assumed the keys, tires out of balance, rotational sounds, a plate with tags that aren't current, getting nickel and dimed on questionable scratches to make up the difference, doesn't make the $1 or $2 a day worth giving up the customer service, reliability of vehicles, etc. But that's just been my experiences.

I might even stand in a line and be a little inconvenienced to use Hertz, but I would draw the line considerably shorter than a couple of hours.

Never said a word about renting a POS. Or about saving a dollar or two.

Sorry. I don't understand the point you are making.

No offense intended.

The point is that if I can save $200 over the course of the rental, I'll put up with a longer line and rotational sounds. I'm sure the cheaper cars are reliable enough to last 25 days. Cars last a long time these days.

If you come to Arizona I will let you drive my son's 2001 Corolla. And I won't even charge you.

I drive a 2003 Corolla. They are good cars. I'm giving it to my son in a few weeks.
Oops, I meant a 2002. Yeah, good car.

Our 2009 has had more minor issues than the 2002, including more recalls than I keep track of. There are two standing recalls that I have neglected.

I let go of the side of the pool and bought a 2015 Subaru Forester Touring and really love it.
