My humble suggestion...
That's a first. But I agree with you.

This would keep the Vegas Free-for-All threads clean of political, off topic subjects, etc, if the "Off Topic -Not Vegas Related" forum was also part of the "Free-for-All" side. (ie: NOT Vegas Free-for-All)

However, let's be realistic.

If this new subject, chapter, thread, whatever, were not on the FFA, than nothing would change, and the frequent transgressions would continue. ::: shrug :::

And, you could hold a "Name the new thread" contest with the winner receiving a prize, and do it via your "Poll" which would save your brain from having to come up with another subject for a week or three.

First, the high road.

I do believe there's only a few folks on here that are usually responsible for sending a thread down into the depth's of hell with a single post. It's to bad too because I do think some civil conversations can actually take place here, but what do I know.
Same guy, 23 minutes earlier, WAY DOWN THE LOW ROAD!

You backpedal more than a one legged bicyclist, it is absolutely comical. I swear dude it's obvious you have a brain but you continue to let your mouth runneth over ie, you NEVER SHUT THE FUCK UP and keep sticking your foot in your own mouth. I figure about one in twenty of your post's is worthwhile ,the rest are garbage.

I suppose you just don't mind looking foolish because you seem to alway's do it when you could've just ducked out of a thread with a worthwhile post but decline to do so.

I think you nailed it or at least that is how I feel about it too.

I know the #1 thing the pol. thread haters say is "there's thousand's of pol. bds. out there, go to one of them". Well that sounds all fineand dandy and a simple solution, but when's the last time anyone has tried to have a conversation with 5,000 stranger's? It's not very easy. Malibber had it about right, we're all familiar w/each other and like to talk about daily events as well as Vegas, but let's face it, when a site has the same poster's every day, talking Vegas can only go so far. Aside from a few smartass people, I think this forum has as much knowledge about Vegas as any out there and any questions asked here can and are answered and sometimes more.

Few points:

* A lot of the FFA posters don't subscribe to the LVA. For them, this is basically a one-forum website (the other free forums are mostly vacant), so FAA catches everything.

* HP's decision a year or two ago to ban political discussions from the subscriber-only Kitchen Sink forum sent a lot of us over here to the free FAA forum for the first time.

* Targeting political threads is a mistake. It's insults and namecalling that need to be policed.

* Yep, Niners rule.

Certainly appears I'm one of the guilty, my apologies to the forum.

Well, considering who you were going after with that particular criticism, your sentiments were somewhat understandable. And I still need someone to explain the "one-legged bycylist" to me.

I knew you took it as intended forkie, sure didn't appear that way as pasted here. Appreciate the comment

My suggestion would be to put the political and name calling on the members only side. I think some potential new members are driven away from joining when they see what some continually post in the FFA. If it is on the paid side, it could be kept separate and isolated. Then the posts of those who persist in trying to spread their political activism and vitriol criticism of others could be kept out of the other forums that are the real purpose of the site. Those of us who joined to learn and help would also not have to read those posts because they would not be allowed outside one area. Also if a member persisted in prohibited posts they could be initially warned and if necessary placed on temporary suspension from further posts or could be even refused renewal.

Home run!
I like hearing both sides of every question of politics, really how else can you learn.
