Goodbye.

I don't follow this one.

Just checked the responses. Some funny shit. For those that aren't following me, I'm saying that we're gonna let it run here till we get our current issues resolved, then decide how we handle "politics." I think the importance of being able to discuss political subjects has to be recognized given the pervasiveness of these types of posts on the boards. Will we allow it to dominate or overshadow what we're here to do? Of course not. But to deny customers an opportunity to do what they want to do just on rigid principle doesn't make sense. All comments welcome. We'll be working this out and posing more questions to the boards over the next few months.
Saw you on the Destination Channel last night. Really old footage. The Stardust was still open.
Discovery? I guess they'll go on forever. Cool.

Umm, . . . no.

But if it were tortured out of him DonDiego would admit that he is treegirl. [DonDiego does not hold up well under torture.]

It has always been my contention that the issue was not the political discourse itself, but the contentious and toxic rancor these discussions invariably spawn. I'm good either way. I learned how to not click on a potentially offensive thread years ago.
One possibility is for people who create political threads to put (POL) in the title. This would allow those who don't like politics to ignore them. Seems like a considerate method until Anthony figures out a long term plan.
This means Mindbender can return!

Yayness.
I know the #1 thing the pol. thread haters say is "there's thousand's of pol. bds. out there, go to one of them". Well that sounds all fineand dandy and a simple solution, but when's the last time anyone has tried to have a conversation with 5,000 stranger's? It's not very easy. Malibber had it about right, we're all familiar w/each other and like to talk about daily events as well as Vegas, but let's face it, when a site has the same poster's every day, talking Vegas can only go so far. Aside from a few smartass people, I think this forum has as much knowledge about Vegas as any out there and any questions asked here can and are answered and sometimes more.

I do believe there's only a few folks on here that are usually responsible for sending a thread down into the depth's of hell with a single post. It's to bad too because I do think some civil conversations can actually take place here, but what do I know.

My humble suggestion. Make the Vegas Free For All for Vegas Topics Only. Add a new category for 'Non-Vegas Talk'. My beloved SF 49ers have something like that in their forums. They have a Category called 'No Sports Talk Allowed' and It includes a 'Town Square' for politics. It's the best of both worlds. They have 100 times the active posters as here and manage to keep it together.

This Keeps the Vegas FFA content on Topic and gives those who want to discuss current events an independent venue. You could just rename LVA Sports to 'Anything Goes' as it's not very active anyway.
