Screwin with telemarketers

I used to tell them to hold on a minute then set the phone down and continue to eat dinner or whatever. I did that one time when a friend and I were messing around out in the garage, drinking a bit and set the phone down and completely forgot about it. We continued on with what we were doing, making noise and laughing our butts off, when all of a sudden my friend remembered and picked up the phone and the guy was still there!,had to have been at least twenty minutes. Unbelievable. Friend gave kudo's to the guy and hung up.

Telemarketers are Little League.

Just hope that you never start getting calls because some other guy with your first and last names lives in your town and can't pay his bills.

I have had more than a thousand calls from debt collection agencies over the years because of this guy, who by the way died over a year ago. Hasn't stopped them. One agency had all three of my numbers and called them in succession once every day for several weeks. I know more than I ever wanted to know about the life of a total stranger. At least he isn't running up any new debts, poor guy.

I finally got rid of my land line so they couldn't look up my number as easily as before. And yes, with my VOIP system I make liberal use of call blocking if talking to them once doesn't work. One national collection agency called from ten different phone numbers. Law firms don't seem to have that many.

I used to have fun with unwanted callers before all of this started.
I turned off the ringers on all my phones. I don't get bothered by telemarketers or anyone for that matter.
Lol! I bet those scammers were sorry they called you. Clearly, they just wasted their time.

But then, you're right. Despite all the warnings and the scam call being obvious, there are still a few who fall for the trick. It's sad that they had to lose their money first for them to learn their lesson.

And it's because of these scam calls that I always tell family and friends to read posts at Callercenter.com. The website is where most people reports scam calls, along with the scammer's phone number. I think it really helps when people know whose phone call not to answer.
I still have a "Tele-Zapper" on my home phone line.... still works!
