The Second Wave

I'll take this over a Lakers NBA championship "celebration" any day.

And DonDiego et al will be glad to know that the Coney Island looters at the CVS pharmacy did leave behind the Depends™.

Ever since his Naked Crucifixions In Front Of The Eqyptian Presidential Palace post, I advise using protection when clicking on a DonDiego link, but this one isn't so bad. It features "reports" from the Twitter machine claiming all sorts of violence at the gas pumps, but features photos of hundreds of folks apparently waiting in orderly lines. Go figure.

DonDiego is a Hype Machine unto his people.

There are no lines for gas at my house but if you go about 10 miles north of my house, there are long lines to buy gas. It's chaotic. My job has been without electricity all week.

Arrest Made
"A St. Albans, Queens man has been charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon after he attempted to cut a line at a gas station and pointed a pistol at another motorist who complained."

State Troopers
"State Troopers Deployed To N.J. Gas Stations As Frustration, Massive Lines Form At The Pump"

Staten Islanders Plead For Food, Clothing

President Obama Back on Campaign Trail
"President Obama was back on the campaign trail Thursday, kicking off a final five-day push before Election Day with a whirlwind tour through the battleground states of Colorado, Nevada and Wisconsin."

Heavens to Betsy, one person arrested for threatening someone. If that isn't a "Second Wave" I don't know what is!

Politicians have their priorities. Thousands of looters, but well protected marathoners. Business as usual.

While almost 1 million people are without power in the NY met area there are 3 generators sitting in Central Park waiting for Sunday's race, not to mention all the generators being used by the networks to cover the race.

A spokeperson for the NY Roadrunners club when asked why they aren't being used elsewhere replied "we paid for them"

The Knicks are opening their season tonight; the Nets tomorrow night - a better use of the facilities would be to let people stay there rather than being left hanging in their cold, powerless apartments.

It gets worse.

DD's doom and gloom threads are generating parodies.

Fifth wave: Dog's and cat's living together!
When katrina hit the media was full of stories of devastation and it was all President Bush's fault and the incompetence of Fema.

Now that obama is president & with the election next week not a word even though the largest city in the country is crippled, Manhattan below 34st is without power & the businesses down there haven't opened in a week, entire towns on the Jersey shore are gone & millions are without power

Fema is once again useless, power generators aren't being delivered, there is no gas and temperatures are near freezing.

Meanwhile obama is off campaigning
