I thought the subject was how terrible labor unions were - and how wonderful pure-as-the-driven-snow Deutsche Bank was. Your "2008" post wasn't replying to anyone in particular, so I thought you might have been responding to - me! (I never referred to the loans.) And your "Oh yeah you suck" type responses didn't help any with the understanding.

You and I probably agree on the necessity of loaning the banks in order to avoid bank runs and worse. And how can you fault the banks for taking the money? But I happen to think it's shameful that the Bush administration and especially the Obama administration granted the loans with virtually no conditions attached requiring the banks to clean up their act. And as Senator Elizabeth Warren recently pointed out, in addition to fines, maybe some of the corporate perpetrators of the felonies should have served time in prison.

Just like the Las Vegas culinary workers who took part in the disruption should pay for their misdemeanors. Fair is fair.

Now the party of hate wants a German bank to crush American tax payers, because they hate unions.
