Teen dies in CO. after eating pot cookie

He and I are both for it.
Grass is a far more dangerous and toxic substance than alcohol or cigarettes, so anyone stupid enough to take it in in any way gets exactly what they deserve. The only reason people want to legalize it is because they're either dumbasses who want to get high, or they've talked themselves into believing there's too many potheads in jail just for smoking the stuff.

This incident was very predictable and is only the beginning. Lots of our youth will die in pot-related incidents and we're all to blame...just as we're all to blame for electing such an incompetent president and a corrupt Congress. But all in all, this is no different than the "tolerance" and "diversity" we're stifling ourselves with each new day, like with Muslim over-acceptance and the totally wacked out gay marriage trash. People say they want a new day. Welcome to the new day.
I'm sure that alcohol will kill far more than reefer.

Absolutely no doubt in my mind. This incident has to be one in a million,IF one actually wants to blame pot.

Ist paragraph: Whhaaat did you say? Totally wrong and borders on being foolish...I have tried all three and you are dead(pun?) wrong...The most dangerous and deadly by a far mile is tobacco....kills and maims millions each year....Alcohol...not so bad if taken in moderation, bad side effect is it makes persons aggressive, especially while driving....Marijuana...good for you...kills cancer cells and puts you in a good mood.

2nd part of 2nd paragraph: Worst president ever I agree...He loves Mooslims...He was BORN one..His father was Mooslim....In that religions beliefs you are what your father is.

Full legalization of marijuana is a stupid idea. Even liberal CA Gov. Jerry Brown most likely agrees with me. Young people can't find jobs anymore as it is. Increasing the number of dopey stoners will only exacerbate the problem.

Hah!

DonDiego needs no tetrahydrocannabinol, or other psychoactive substance, to experience paranoia and anxiety. The morning newspaper works fine for him.

I don't know why I bother but here goes. From the CDC

"There are approximately 88,000 deaths attributable to excessive alcohol use each year in the United States.1 This makes excessive alcohol use the 3rd leading lifestyle-related cause of death for the nation.2 Excessive alcohol use is responsible for 2.5 million years of potential life lost (YPLL) annually, or an average of about 30 years of potential life lost for each death.1 In 2006, there were more than 1.2 million emergency room visits and 2.7 million physician office visits due to excessive drinking.3 The economic costs of excessive alcohol consumption in 2006 were estimated at $223.5 billion.3"

There has never been an OD from marijuana. As far as the kid jumping over the balcony I still wonder what was up because his friends did not follow suit.

If you truly want to educate yourself on the subject go here

I can speak from 33 years as a first responder that alcohol, cigarettes and prescription Oxy are far more dangerous than pot will ever be.

I am sure Treegirls husband would agree.

Kills cancer cells? Dude, what oncologist told you that? Marijuana is said to ease nausea from cancer treatment (chemotx). No curative properties.

The problem is the propensity to escalate use, and when the thrill is gone move to more illegal and addictive substances.
Addicts do drugs to get high, they keep looking for stronger drugs because of the tolerance they have built up in their system.
Not everyone who uses pot goes on to harder drugs or becomes an addict. There are recreational pot users who lead productive lives and do not have arrest records.

Just like those who drink beer don't always go on to harder liquor or become alcoholics.

People have addictive personalities and legalization of drugs will have no bearing on their use.

My hubby said those who are arrested for recreational marijuana are the easiest arrests, they are mellow.
Very rarely are they pulled over for a traffic violation or arrested for violence.
