Simply noting that you are once again telling me what I think. I dont mind. But I know you do when people engage you this way...

Just trying to help your integrity.

DonDiego apologizes; he did not intend to tell pjstroh what pjstroh thinks.

He must've misinterpreted pjstroh's comment: "Is this going to be another one of those stories that turns out to be BS, . . . ?" as less than sympathetic to Ms. Sundby's plight.

No, apology necessary. But I think you missed this sentence right after your quote.

"I certainly hope she gets the care she needs."

And forkushV suggests it may just be coincidental that United Healthcare is withdrawing from the California market immediately before the implementation of the ACA, . . . probably like the coincidental departure of Aetna a few weeks earlier.
Others may disagree:
"Sabrina Corlette -- a research professor at Georgetown University's Center on Health Insurance Reforms -- said Aetna and UnitedHealth 'have made the calculation that it required too much of an investment to change their strategy' under ACA implementation."...(
Nope. United Healthcare's CEO, told investors, “The company’s plans reflect its concern that the first wave of newly insured customers under the law may be the costliest. UnitedHealth will watch and see how the exchanges evolve and expects the first enrollees will have ‘a pent-up appetite’ for medical care. We are approaching them with some degree of caution because of that.”

So United Healthcare's CEO is gaming the system, trying to get other insurance companies to take on the sickest clients, so they can return in few years and get the healthiest. What a guy! But of course it's Obama's fault.
Hey DonDiego, I'll call your one anecdote, and raise you another 274. A stellar health insurance employee got a $20,000 bonus for rescinding 275 policies in one year.

And I am saddened indeed, that DonDiego has no sympathy for the plight of those 275 families, who would have been protected under Obamacare.

Ahh, . . . but poor old DonDiego does have sympathy for them. DonDiego has been a victim of fraudulent behavior by others in his past; and received no satisfaction from the legal system. So he hopes if any laws were broken by the insurers, that the strictest penalties are invoked.

DonDiego is certain the introduction of Obamacare will result in the abolition of medical care fraud and the absolute protection of individuals' personal information entered into the vast Obamacomputers.

Nothing in obamacare takes care of the real driver of costs; that 5% of the population uses 25% of the resources. The aging population will need even more extensive care, driving the costs up further

But it wasn't illegal - before Obamacare.

Oh ! Oh ! DonDiego has another anecdote.

But this one is great fun:

There are these two San Francisco Democrats who have donated to the liberal group Organizing for America and worked the phone banks a year ago for President Obama’s re-election.
They had a health care policy from Kaiser Permanente, where the wife worked. They were happy. But Kaiser Permanente notified them recently that the policy was canceled because it didn't meet ACA requirements.

But, not to worry, . . . Kaiser Permanente had enrolled them in a new plan:

Deductible: old $4000, new $4500
Doctor visit: old $40, new unknown-possibly higher
Out-of-pocket annual: old $5600, new $6350
Hospital co-insurance: old 30%, new 40%
Not so bad.

Cost-per-month: old $550, new $1300
Gulp!

The couple is troubled: "We’re not changing our [political] views because of this situation, but it hurt to hear Obama saying, just the other day, that if our plan has been dropped it’s because it wasn’t any good, and our costs would go up only slightly."
Oh goodness, . . . "it hurt."

Ahh, . . .but they do have a plan:
"If his income were to fall below four times the federal poverty level, or about $62,000 for a family of two, he would qualify for subsidies that could lower his premium cost to as low as zero. If he makes even one dollar more, he gets nothing.
That’s what he’s leaning toward — lowering his salary or shifting more money toward a retirement account and applying for a subsidy."

Yeah, . . . that's the ticket, . . . game the system. Have the taxpayer pick up some of the fees.
DonDiego wonders if such tactics will occur to others.

Obama spent today trying to explain this totally fuched up roll out to a few of his dems that feel they are in jeopardy of losing their seats in elections next year! Yesterday was a JOKE as White House chief of staff tried to explain the "well I meant to say" instead of what "he did say". This guy is probably getting tired of explaining Obama's problems to the press. You could tell he was getting very frustrated with the "press insisting" that Obama basically lied about things in the ACA

this is comparing the "bronze plan" which is supposed to be the cheapest! Oh my, nothing like it has been "sold to us by the government"
The Manhattan Institute, with Bill Kristol on its board and funding by the Koch Brothers, big oil, big pharma, and big tobacco, is an unabashed right-wing advocacy group.

Which is why rdwoodpecker uses its propaganda rather than actual, objective research by nonpartisan groups like the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Much of what they are reporting on the health care act cost is accurate!
Pull your head out of the sand and just state what a joke they have made this roll out and they have lied about "keep your insurance and your doctor" Everyone is tiring of this guys excuses or what he was not aware of
