Your statement has to be one of the most ridiculously asinine statements I have ever read. "Obama's competence"? What a joke!
Obama's level of competence should scare everyone. It's especially evident with the botched rollout of this massive change to our healthcare system...
Yep, you can really measure the competence of a multi-billion dollar program in a couple three months, right?
Yeah, it sucks to have two incompetent presidents in a row, but shit happens.
Of course we can't measure the 'competence of a multi-billion dollar program after 3 months'....not of the whole program. That's not what I said though, Is it?...
No, you equated the president with a CEO that deserved to be fired, which is even dimmer.
Okay, I'll play. How about the first year or two of the Civil War - for the United States I mean, not the traitors. How about our entry into World War II in the Pacific - caught napping at Pearl Harbor, and our initial losses against the Germans - getting our asses kicked by Rommel's superior troops and tactics. Or almost getting run off the peninsula in the initial months of the Korean War. And then there's the matter of 241 American servicemen killed in Beirut, and Kennedy's Bay of Pigs, and Bush's Medicare Part D.
But oh yeah, a website was broken for the first two months, after Republicans engaged in active sabotage against the program by refusing to set up state marketplaces, and delayed the implementation further with a lawsuit that reached the Supreme Court. (Moral: Don't fart and then point at the dog.) And speaking of which alanleroy, how's Obamacare and the state marketplace doing there in California, where Jerry Brown and Arnold Schwarzenegger before him chose to cooperate with the law?
My point is that people who rendered judgement on Bush's war after two months and on Obamacare after two months - as well as rush to judgments regarding Lincoln, FDR, etc. - were either stupid or just blinded by ideology. And perhaps even that is a false choice.
