And if you are a libertarian, please get off the Internet, since it was developed in a government funded project.

Number51 says poor old DonDiego is a "disingenuous fake Libertarian", . . . so he can stay on the Internets.

Nyah! Nyah! Nyah!

An Elitist trying to boss people around. Typical.

I thought "fake libertarian" was a complement.

"disingenuous" yup, that was an insult. But it is kind of your thing. Give me a smarmy wall of text to prove me wrong.

Edited to add: Look at this thread, still alive. I will check in every day, now that this forum got interesting again.

I said please. Sorry if I hurt your feelings. And I just thought you might be the sort of libertarian who is willing to walk his talk. Silly me.

For those not so urbane as Number51 and DonDiego:
Definition:
smarmy
adj , smarmier , smarmiest
informal ( Brit ) obsequiously flattering or unpleasantly suave

Yes, . . . yes, indeed, . . . yet another compliment. However, DonDiego prefers to think of himself as at least a half-ingenuous suave fake libertarian. No, . . . wait, . . . that's really not so.

For the record, poor old DonDiego embraces some aspects of what is currently understood as "Libertarianism", but he opines he doesn't even know all the positions of a definitive modern Libertarian. He's sure he wouldn't like some.
If the Nation had adhered and would adhere to the principles of Jeffersonian Democracy more closely, it would be a better place.
DonDiego does reject totalitarianism, from the Right or Left. And DonDiego suggests a significant impediment to Government oppression is to limit the size and "responsibilities" of Government. But that's just DonDiego.
So as a good rule of thumb, DonDiego supposes one might just as well stick to a conservative interpretation of the Constitution. That should forestall lots of mischief and trouble-making.

Probably "Jeffersonian Constitutionalist" would be the most nearly appropriate political descriptor for poor old DonDiego.

How would the Socialist Totalitarian Number51 describe his governmental philosophy?

In fact, DonDiego proposes everyone describe his own political beliefs, . . . instead of having other posters describe them.
Here's the rule: one should describe one's political philosophy in no more than three words.

DonDiego offers some examples:
1. DonDiego: "Jeffersonian Constitutionalist"
2. Number51: "Redistributionist Totalitarian Democrat" [If Number51 disagrees, he can submit his own description, . . . like maybe: "Devoted Obama Zealot".]

Initiate the festivities!
. . . . . . .
OK - DonDiego. I will take a shot at this.

I opine myself to be a "Limited Government Conservative".

I'll add to your idea as in my areas (Chicagoland) we have a number of these signs popping up on lawns here saying "Proud Union Home". So, what sign would I put on my lawn?

I am torn between:

"Proud Christian American Home" or "Proud Heterosexual Home"

I'll probably go with the first one.

First thanks for the spelling correction, compliment not complement. English is hard.

Now, oh the name calling, nasty stuff from DD. "Zealot"?

For me, lets go with too many words:
Knows the difference between right and wrong.

I really don't care which side of the isle the idea comes from, fair is fair. Jefferson wasn't right about everything, neither is Obama. Being correct more often than not is a good thing, being consistently wrong on almost everything is Bush... I mean bad.

More "we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it"?

No reason for concern about what some are trying to do to erode the rights of the American people, right?
