Really, they never deal with private health insurance companies? Because they will be dealing with private insurance companies.

DonDiego's family physician figuredit out

" . . . no matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what."
__President Barack Obama, 15 June 2009

or.

True,(so far anyway), we wont be able to keep our current insurance as we know it. My wife is the office/business manager for a small CRO consulting co. and she is cluelss as is everyone they ask. Carefirst (current carrier) gave them an offer to renew current policy in nov. and thereby extending it for a year, very cool of them, because its primo(and very expensive) coverage and the boss doesnt want any of it to change for them.

I will add this in response to forkies post. Carefirst made that offer because they cant get any definitive answers. I suppose there are straight answera for 25 yr old joe shmo, but for older established folks it starts to get a bit more complex.

Death Panels! Aw now your getting me all nostalgic.

I mean, remember "palling around with terrorists," born in Kenya, the secret Muslim, Sharia Law, teleprompters, Michelle's "kill whitey" tape, and the Black Panthers. So many memories.

Like clockwork, more deflection.

Do tell. If someone 78 years old is diagnosed with acute leukemia, will Obamacare pay for a bone marrow transplant for that person? or chemotherapy? or will it provide a list of hospice facilities as the only healthcare option?

At what age do we stop doing everything possible and spend thousands or millions of dollars to extend someone's life a few months vs not spending the money and letting them die with only palliative care?

Is that decision a death panel or simply a tough decision?

The question is, WHO should make all of those decisions? Denying that those decisions will be made by people other than the patients, family members or even personal physicians is false. Those decisions will be standardized and those standards will be set by panels. I suspect those standards would be reasonable in most cases, but to deny that they will/do exist bothers me.

Again a tough decision. If it costs a million dollars to keep a loved one alive for 1 month - how many people can make a logical decision under the duress that a dying loved one brings? Every now and then you read about a family that refuses to remove a loved one from the machine keeping them alive even though there's no chance for to regain consciousness.

Tough decisions need to be made. Calling the decision making process a "death panel" is merely hyperbole to discredit Obamacare.

Personally, the so called "living will" which basically will allow the hospital let someone die instead of living in a vegetative state should be the standard of care and not an opt-in option.

I just don't believe that the people directly affected by such decisions should be excluded from the process of making them.

I didn't call the decision making process a "death panel".

The only reasons you wouldn't be able to keep your present insurance is if your wife's (private) employer makes a change, or if her employer's (private) insurer makes a change. That's it. Nothing to do with Obamacare.

And yes, you may be forced to change doctors if your doctor moves to a different practice, dies, decides to become a pole or Chippendale's dancer, or if your (private) insurance company makes a change. That's it. Nothing to do with Obamacare.

Rumors is all you got.

You expose your own credibility with that pathetic comment:

1. The Kenyan-in-chief was re-elected with a whopping 51% of the vote, winning 26 states and losing 24.
Landslide?
2. Outside of Mexifornia, the majority of those of us in the other 49 states voted AGAINST the klepto-in-chief.
3. He became the ONLY Democrat in American history to be elected with over 230 Republicans in the House.
How did he do it? With millions of the ghetto/barrio "base" voting
"early and often".

Oh, and given his current
approval rating
the party of pimps, crackheads and ho's is headed for yet another ass whupping next year which may have them looking at 2010 with nostalgia.
So melbedewy has reappeared after his banning a couple months back.

melbedewy/nancysee has always been a useful tool for exposing the racism of the brighter conservatives here who have trained themselves not to be so overt, but who in their silence show their approval of his racism. It'll be fun to kick his new username around the block some more, so welcome back melbedewy/nancysee.

Yes, Obama won a landslide last year. I know because Republicans told us last fall that 332 electoral tvotes is a landslide. Why, they said so themselves!

Obama did better than all those standards, winning 332-206 in what prominent Republicans consider a landslide. Yep, Obama 2012 was another LANDSLIDE, and the fifth time in the last six Presidential elections where the Democrat got the most votes.

So by this "logic" if a candidate wins each state and DC by exactly one vote-a 51 vote margin out of 120 million votes that is a "landslide" because that candidate wins every electoral vote?

It's "thinking" like that that got us 17 trillion in debt. Dylan said it best on racist Democrat dee-troit style economics-
A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall.

If a doctor moves to another practice, it may or may not be because of Obamacare. DonDiego's doctor's wife/office manager informed teechur that he is closing his private practice because of Obamacare. DonDiego has no reason to doubt her. Perhaps forkushV has reason to doubt her.

If a doctor dies, it pr'bly is not because of Obamacare.

If a doctor becomes a pole-dancer, it may or may not be because of Obamacare.

If a doctor becomes a Chippendale dancer, it may or may not be because of Obamacare.

If a private insurer makes a change, it may or may not be because of Obamacare. If the private insurer states it is because of Obamacare it probably is.

In short, the decisions which individuals and corporations in the medical field make may or may not be influenced by the extensive provisions of Obamacare. To state categorically that these decisions have "nothing to do with Obamacare" is simply false.

I have an opportunity almost daily to read the idiotic blatherings of forkush and Chilcoot. Thanks Obama!
