what states have an 18 gambling age?

That old saying "There are no stupid questions, just stupid answers" just went out the window!
At some places in CA, you can gamble at age 18. I believe the trade off is alcohol is only served in restaurants and bars.

From Barona's website, https://www.barona.com/casino/
— Because the minimum gambling age is 18, we only allow children in the casino before 8:00pm to dine in our restaurant facilities (10:00pm for children of hotel guests). They must, however, be accompanied by an adult at all times, and cannot stay in the gambling areas.

Alcohol Service, https://www.barona.com/dining/

Alcohol is available in the Steakhouse, Italian Cucina & The Plaza during their normal hours of operation including lunch.

Alcohol is available in El Rancho Grande:
Sunday from 5:00pm to 10:00pm
Friday & Saturday from 5:00pm to Midnight

The minimum age to gamble in the United States varies between 18 and 21, . . . depending on the specific form of gambling in which one is engaged. Apparently within some States it may also depend on which gambling emporium one is in; e.g. in Michigan the casino may choose to set the age above the State minimum of 18.

Minnesota for one. The gambling age is 18 while the drinking age is 21. Young folks will get carded in casino bars while still being able to play in the main casino.

maybe because his father has been telling him that he can gamble illegally?

Tough crowd.

Don't let 'em get you down, jatki. I wrote a little poem for ya:

JATKI'S LAMENT

Damn thread's sinking by the minute
Guess there's no way I can win it
Kinda seems that I stepped in it
When I decided to begin it

It would be better if he wrote this:

Damn it!

I should have started that thread weeks ago...
Then my son would have had time to get a fake ID to show...
Who cares if it's not right, for I am above the law when in Vegas at night.
My Vegas trip came to a hard hitting end,
Like getting hit in the face with a shit loaded pail...
the last thing I planned on was bailing my
son out of jail.

BTW, I said to do the right thing and not let him gamble in a casino, as per your original question. Just because you stated that you would probably gamble, you should know better than encourage him to gamble while he is underage. If you don't like my response, then don't ask a stupid question that you already knew the answer to.

I totally agree.
