Apparently I do!

For the record, today even DonDiego finds the term objectionable.
This would have been a good place for this poster to stop.

But that does not excuse those who accuse someone of cavalier use of like terms when there is no evidence, let alone proof that they have done so.
I didn't accuse Rick Perry of anything. Maybe someone has, but not me.

I said Rick Perry's hunting camp is no longer called "Niggerhead". Which it isn't, because even Rick Perry realized that's too offensive a term to be used.

The Lesson of Niggerhead Hunting Camp
A camp used to be called "Niggerhead."
Over time, people came to consider that name incredibly offensive, too offensive to keep.
The name changed.

See how easy that is?

Maybe someone will tell Dan Snyder.
I would like to ask a question about the entire post.
Do we in fact put way too much emphasis on names. It is the N word--it is hunky--it is greasy greek--there is always going to be a select few who dig their ass in the sand and say this is a slur. Is there not much more serious problems facing the world today. Child abuse---animal abuse, drugs--senseless murders--student school attacks--and the list go on and on. How can any one waste their times in bitching about the Redskins, Braves, The Indians or the Chiefs. Yankees, I for one could give a shit less. We best wake up America and set our priorities in order. What the hell going on in Washington DC and what stupid ass decisions the Supreme Court is making. SMILE, PRAY, AND HAVE A GREAT DAY
I used to live quite close to Miami University in Oxford Ohio. Some 25 years ago, school officials addressed the "Redskins" nickname with the Miami Indian tribe, and the tribe voted to allow the continued use of the name. Quickly following this vote, several PC Liberal whiny white kids flew to Oklahoma and explained to the Indians why they should be offended, whiny and PC.

The tribe suddenly became offended, and then decided to be whiny and PC.

To my earlier point....

None of the " no big deal" Anti-PC people on this thread are native Americans. (Wow! saying Native Americans was tough!). If you want to know how Native Americans feel you can ask one of them....or you can just ask Boilerman / Jatki.. Readers can decide for themselves who has more insight.

And if you want to point our resident conservatives BS on this topic simply remind them of the shit fit they through when Obama said something politically incorrect about people clinging to religion and guns.

There is a golf club in China named "Whitehead". I considered becoming a whiny, PC Liberal followed by complaints and protests..........but I decided against it.

There is a golf club in Colorado named Whitehead Golf Club. I choose not to be offended.

England hosts the Whitehead Sports and Social Club. Why haven't the whiny PC Liberal bunch contacted these ignorant Brits and explain why they should become whiny and offended by this name?

It is counter productive to teach people to become victims. I is counter productive to teach people to become whiny.

A prettty good analysis of why that decade-old Annenburg survey doesn't have much meaning in 2014.

Stuff like
* the survey used landline-only phones at a time when fewer than half of Native Americans on reservations HAD landlines; and
* how there's a lot more people who claim some Native American ancestry but aren't Native American in any meaningful sense (Nancy Reagan, Brad Pitt, Kathie Lee Gifford).

Attitudes change. In 1978, only 34% of Americans said they approved of interracial marriage. More recently, there's been a revolution of thought about marriage equality.

The league is still giving Snyder a little rope to cling to his offensive team name. It won't last forever, and this battle will also be won.

Boilerman, be sure to forward your thoughts on to Bill o'reiley regarding his liberal, whiny rants about the war on Christmas. Or all the whiny, PC crybabies who got their feelings crushed when Obama talked about people clinging to religion and guns.

As far as it being counterproductive to speak out against ignorance? How did the GOP's strategy of calling Obama a lazy, food-stamp president work out in 2012?
I'm offended when the President of the United States divides America by race, by income, or by religion.

I don't become offended by a some stranger who states that Conservatives are clinging to our guns and bibles. Why would I allow some guy that I'll never see again to bother me?

You must have REALLY HATED the guy that was president from 2000-2008 then?
Nope. Not one of our best presidents, but one who certainly did not divide America. The Liberals do a fine job of this on a daily basis.

Apparently the names of some things can be changed. All it takes is the will.

Like, say, if one of our best allies warns us that we're making a terrible mistake going to war in Iraq.
