WSOP Champ Greg Raymer arrested in prostitution sting

Off Kilter- The police probably could not catch anyone driving 2 mph below the speed limit to ticket.

Maybe, seems to me that where there are "crimes" that can be simply settled by a fine the police and judges are foaming at the mouth.

They said his laptop was stolen.

I am sure that for a while Raymer, the Fossilman, was affected with a case of "petrified wood".

Ordinarily this wouldn't bother me a bit, but this one sentence in the article bothers me a little bit;...Raymer has been charged with prostitution and attempted crimes against nature.
What are "attempted crimes against nature."?
Perhaps poor old DonDiego can clarify:
"initial reports suggested Raymer was arrested for soliciting a male prostitute and charged with crimes against nature. In the last hour, a local law enforcement officer updated the record. Apparently, the prostitute in question was a female, and thus, Raymer has not been hit with "crimes against nature, . . ."

I'm glad Don Diego clarified that. I almost had the impression that beastiality (or attempted beastiality) had taken place.

It's a slippery slope from man on man to man on Marmoset.

Question:
Does the Marmoset have a pimp? If so would the pimp be another Marmoset or a human. Because a Marmoset can't speak English. French maybe, but English? Marmoset please.

F'n police have nothing better to do. Why do they even go after prostitution arrests anyways?

REVENUE for the local jurisdiction.

This is an easy and non dangerous way for the police to pad the coffers...Hardly any jail time ever for the perp...pay a big fine and all is good and charges dismissed (after they get the money).

I can see investigating prostitution cases if there is a robbery or beating.

Raymer was low hanging fruit....easy to nab and gets hit with a big fine I am sure.

Yes...let's blame the police for this.
Prostitution is illegal. You have to wonder about the men who think nothing is wrong with it.
All 10's right?

It was failure to move to the right lane while going slower than the posted limit.
My gosh, at least get your facts correct if you insist on spreading this to another thread.

Yep, definite senility.
Just a thought for all to consider.

I understand the need for laws, a judicial system, etc. We are, after all pitiful creatures unable of proper behavior in social situations and groups of two or more. This, therefor requires some sort of enforcement force. So we have police.

The problem with police, as we see far too often, is that they are us. They are just as likely the criminal or as cruel or as untrustworthy as the next person. They can be hero or villain. You see both on the news with regularity.

Which brings me to my problem with these "sting" operations.

Like Off Kilter i question the purpose behind the operation. I question its validity. I certainly question its value since the only true result will be the collection of fine monies and a perhaps a broken marriage for a hapless usband or two. And is it the police's job to be the impetus of a break up?

I know that this type of operation has been upheld in the courts as legal but think about this. If these supposed law enforcers had not created an illegal situation and inticed these men to show up, would a crime ever have been commited? No.

As far as i'm concerned the police are as guilty as the men that showed up looking for prostitutes. In my mind, the cops are the prostitutes in this case and have themselves commited a crime.

Think about it. I'm not saying Raymer and the boys are without blame for seeking out the whores, but i am saying the cops are wrong also.
Well the government is finding new things to tax all the time.

Is it not about time to legalize prostitution. Regulate it and tax the hell out of it.

Oh wait more government in our life, huh, probably not a good idea. I regress.

Maybe it falls into the new "obama affordable care act".

Marmosets can be quite attractive.

Now, gerbils are another story altogether.
