WSOP Champ Greg Raymer arrested in prostitution sting

Just a thought for all to consider.

I understand the need for laws, a judicial system, etc. We are, after all pitiful creatures unable of proper behavior in social situations and groups of two or more. This, therefor requires some sort of enforcement force. So we have police.

The problem with police, as we see far too often, is that they are us. They are just as likely the criminal or as cruel or as untrustworthy as the next person. They can be hero or villain. You see both on the news with regularity.

Which brings me to my problem with these "sting" operations.

Like Off Kilter i question the purpose behind the operation. I question its validity. I certainly question its value since the only true result will be the collection of fine monies and a perhaps a broken marriage for a hapless usband or two. And is it the police's job to be the impetus of a break up?

I know that this type of operation has been upheld in the courts as legal but think about this. If these supposed law enforcers had not created an illegal situation and inticed these men to show up, would a crime ever have been commited? No.

As far as i'm concerned the police are as guilty as the men that showed up looking for prostitutes. In my mind, the cops are the prostitutes in this case and have themselves commited a crime.

Think about it. I'm not saying Raymer and the boys are without blame for seeking out the whores, but i am saying the cops are wrong also.

Real nice! I hope the next time you need a cop you remember this post.
The percentage of bad cops compared to good ones is very low.
Prostitution in an area leads to other crimes. That is a fact.

treegirl, here's a thought experiment for you. Try saying the same thing about an undercover bust over possession of marijuana. Those destroyed lots of lives over the years. Or here's a blast from the not too distant past; how about an undercover sting busting gays for discussing consensual sex - in a gay bar?

All the people who thought those were righteous busts were on the wrong side of history. Et tu treegirl?

Does that include laptops being stolen?
This is the same Greg Raymer that fought off attackers outside is hotel room at the Bellagio I believe. He was carrying a ton of cash and fought his way out of the situation until security got there.

Raymer was low hanging fruit.

That's just ridiculous.

You need to think harder before you post, because that post was just dumb.

If you think prostitution should be legal, say that. Don't say that the police who we pay to enforce the laws we've passed against prostitution are themselves criminals for merely doing what we pay them to do.

An exceptionally poorly-thought-out post.

It's a slippery slope from man on man to man on Marmoset.

Marmosets can be quite attractive.

Now, gerbils are another story altogether.

Whoa! I didn't look them up for that reference. That's kinda freaky, like Bigfoot, or mother in law, or Yeti freaky. I'll be sticking with the humans.
