Your tax dollars at work

"What is being said is that governments can carry debt forever. They need to service that debt, but they do not need to pay it all off, ever. And he's right."

Actually klugman is wrong. Counries have cancelled their debt, Weimar Republic, Nationalist China and czarist Russia to name a few. Due to risk Greek debt interest is over 10%.
Funny how the deficit was not much of a concern when the government-shut-down-clowns were demanding we renew the Bush Tax Cuts - which is by far the biggest component of the deficit. Note how fiscal responsibility takes a back seat in that case.

Well, if you don't know that Paul Krugman is the most famous living economist, well, what can be said. Hell, the guy's a frequent guest on Jay Leno!

It does not surprise me that you've never heard of him.
Who's Jay Leno?

No. Actually you mentione the key word PJ,fiscal responsibility. I want the govt to quit spendig so much and yes I am a proponent of the Bush tax cuts and I believe it was aconsensus that they are a good thing for the cou try. Actually isnt that a big rallying cry by most, to cut spending or at least more responsibe spending? I think a 3 trillion dollar budget should be enough.

So how do you explain a huge 59-36 majority of Americans wanted the cuts for the wealthy to be done away with last winter when it was still being debated? People don't like good things?

NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll conducted by the polling organizations of Peter Hart (D) and Bill McInturff (R). Dec. 6-9, 2012. N=1,000 adults nationwide. Margin of error ± 3.1.

Actually, don't bother explaining, I just find it funny that so much of what you post here is completely wrong, written like an illiterate, and so easy to disprove.

That chart is irrelevant. The official position of the Republican party 2000-2008 was that deficits dont matter. And I recall no mental patients with triangle hats and misspelled signs protesting it either.
THe official stance of the democrats is that several hundred billion deficts are bad; trillion dollar deficits are good
The "real" official stance of both Democrats and Republicans is they really don't give a damn about the ever increasing deficit because they are only there for the money and power afforded their position, the future be dammed.
