El Dorado Cantina — Two Bonuses and Good Food

El Dorado Cantina — Two Bonuses and Good Food 3

Here’s a new bar bonus in an unlikely place.

On Mondays at El Dorado Cantina (8349 W. Sunset), there’s a play-$20-get-$20 at the bar. Why is that unlikely? Because El Dorado is a restaurant, part of a trio of El Dorados; its predecessors are located adjacent to the Sapphire gentlemen’s club and in the Tivoli shopping district. The Sunset El Dorado is different, however, as it was formerly a bar called No Regrets and the bar area has been retained with the restaurant added on.

This is a good bonus, since most won’t have a players card yet and there’s also a $20/$20 sign-up bonus. The two can be stacked on the same trip — hence, on the first visit, it’s $40/$40. The machine counts you down, so it’s easy to keep track. Earn the sign-up bonus first, download it, and play it through. Then remove and reinsert your card and the countdown to the next $20 will begin. Get a comped drink while you’re at it. El Dorado Cantina is open 24/7.

Timing can come into play here, too, if you want to take advantage of happy hour or just have a meal. The food is excellent (we tried the grasshoppers at the Sapphire location). Happy hours run Mon.-Fri. from 3 to 6 p.m. and daily from midnight to 3 p.m. On Tuesdays, shots of Don Julio 1942 are $10, shots of Patron 11 Alto are $7, and street tacos are $5.

It’s a bit of a drive west from the Strip. Baguette Café, which we reviewed in LVA 6/17, is next door.
