217 Repugs voted to....

There will be a recession--they have recurred throughout the history of industrialized economies.  I'd love to blame the Republicans for starting the next one, so go ahead and don't raise the debt limit, if you think that is the best policy.

Once again 3rd grade kevin can't read.  If he could read he would see that the feds have thousands of empty office space.  According to kevin thats a good thing.

Billions of covid & unemplyment money went to scammers many of them overseas.  Kevin thinks that is good.

Hundreds of billions in other payments were various other scams.  Then hundreds of billions disappear in medicare scams.

All of this in kevin world is good,

Of course your senile hero Joe Biden opposed raising the debt limit 3 times as a senator.  I imagine he's forgotten about that..and so have you..  Fucking hypocrite much?

"My vote against the debt limit increase cannot change the fact that we have incurred this debt already, and will no doubt incur more," Senator Biden said following his "nay" vote in 2006. "It is a statement that I refuse to be associated with the policies that brought us to this point."

Let's not forget little Chuckie Schumer

NOW: SENATE MAJORITY LEADER CHUCK SCHUMER (D-NY): “As default gets closer and closer to becoming a reality, our Republican colleagues will be forced to ask themselves how long they are going to keep playing political games while the economic stability of our country is at risk.”

THEN: “Schumer was one of the 44 Democrats who, in a party-line vote, voted against raising the debt limit in 2006. That year, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee -- which Schumer chaired -- aired attack ads against Ohio’s Mike DeWine [R-OH]. ‘Did you know Mike DeWine voted to raise the national debt to $9 trillion?’ the ad’s narrator asks puzzled and alarmed Cincinnatians. ‘Did you know that we’re borrowing $2 billion a day from China and other countries to pay for that?’”

It's time for Biden and the Democrats to sit down with the Republicans and negotiate the common sense proposals the House has put forward.  Note that the Republicans did in fact pass a debt ceiling increase.  The Democrats just aren't happy with it.  If the Democats reject it without negotiation, then the default's on them, no?

Yeah. A one-time increase with a little bitty kicker--TEN YEARS of drastic budget cuts. Charles, you're an idiot, dishonest conservitard motherfucker, but really...do you think that's an honest, good faith proposal?

The RepubliQ isn't the slightest bit interested in genuine negotiation.

So because there are, according to stupid Tommie-poo, quintillions in "scams," the government shouldn't make any payments to anybody.

I don't know what the fuck he's babbling about with :"thousands of empty office space" (???), but it's getting harder and harder to decipher his idiot nonsense.

Poor stupid, senile Tommie-poo.

Their latest scam move is to propose a one-time raise in the debt ceiling in return for ten years in drastic budget cuts. Then when the Democrats say "no fucking way," they'll try to shift the blame for the impending default to the Democrats.

It's a childishly transparent gambit. The RepubliQ would rather see the country burn than genuinely negotiate.

Should our country default on debts already incurred because Republicans want to use it as leverage for their legislative agenda ?

Or the democrats could negotiate.  Why is that a problem?

Plenty, as I've already outlined.

But its a free country, Tom !  You can own that opinion if you want.  Repuiblicans are too.   ANd you'll win over as many people with that stupidity as you will with the abortion policies you think are winning issues too.

Pj - there are 2 choices here; negotiate or not. The democrats don't want to negotiate. What is the 3rd choice?

Stupid Kevin can't read. One of the links shows how much unused office space there is. Never said anything about eliminating payments. Just enforce who gets the $. Medicare/Medicaid have fraud rates higher than insurance companies. Fraud is higher than banks.

Stupid Kevin continues to pretend that all federal spending is good.

"Thousands of empty office space." That's what stupid Tommie-poo said. Aside from the illiteracy of that phrase, what the fuck does office space have to do with the federal budget?

Tommie-poo's mind is going.

Simplistic thinking from a simpleton. Democrats have offered to negotiate dozens of times. The RepubliQ gave them the middle finger.

RepubliQ "negotiation" is "We'll give you one year if you give us ten."
