Bob Evan's restaurant today

Replace. Not regain.

Here's an analogy you might be able to understand. Your house is on fire. Nobody's inside. The fire department is coming but it will be a few minutes. Do you want to run inside and try to put the fire out, possibly killing yourself in the process?

Or do you simply say, I'll replace my house after it burns down, and not risk your life?

So, if you would have earned (and created value) for $50,000 worth of stuff, but you didn't, you would never regain that $50,000.  Nor would you have created $50,000 of worth for others.

Kevin doesn't realize that when a house burns, there is a loss of wealth.

The restaurant is doing little business because people are CHOOSING not to eat there. You know, the wisdom of the markets.

So what Boilerman is really complaining about is......capitalism!

I'm not complaining about capitalism, but I understand you position.  I have argued from March 1, however, that we should be encourage all able bodied americans to be come infected and to end this thing quickly.  Spending years in an economic contraction is conterproductive and will kill far more than the virus ever will.

I appreciate your sensible comments.

Interesting when it comes to the virus kevin can't tolerate 1 death, but does not utter a word about the several hundred shootings in the last week & the 6 children that were murdered.

The 31m unemployed along with the millions underemployed who are in dange of losing their homes & cars would disagree with the above statement.

Shootings have nothing to do with the virus, and the virus has nothing to do with shootings. It's stupid to try to link the two.

I would rather lose my job or my home than my life. I think more than 31 million people would agree.

And that is an incredibly stupid and irresponsible position, because if everyone was infected at once, then hospitals would be overwhelmed and many people would die for simple lack of care. That did, in fact, happen back in March.

Don't pretend to be stupid. I never said that. I said that such wealth is replaceable, while human life is not.

You missed the point as usual.  You go ballistic about maybe losing 1 life to the virus, but you have nothing to say about the actual hundreds being shot & the children being killed on a weekly basis.
