Remember, Trump was being told by the medical experts that the N95 masks were the only mask that could be used against the virus. These expert doctors were simply regurgitating standard policy, and didn't consider that others masks would have some efficacy. Trump followed the suggestion of the medical experts and did not bring in other types of available masks.
So, Mister, is Trump supposed to listed to the medical experts or not? Your position seems to suggest that Trump should listed to these expert doctors when they are correct, and Trump should not listen to the expert doctors when they are wrong. Mister, how about you take a position on what Trump should do before he does it, and cut out all the Monday morning quarterbacking. You not very good even with hindsight.

In late February the CDC approved KN95 masks from China. The FDA finally approved their unrestricted import on April 3. In the intervening month, some medical personnel had to go without. Some of them are dead.

The holdup with the FDA had to do with liability, not medical expertise. We needed someone at the top who was motivated to slash through the red tape. Someone who cared more about our medical workers than his TV ratings. Someone who gave a damn. Alas...
