Californians may have developed some herd immunity to coronavirus

The holdup with the FDA had to do with liability, not medical expertise. We needed someone at the top who was motivated to slash through the red tape. Someone who cared more about our medical workers than his TV ratings. Someone who gave a damn. Alas...

Leadership matters.

When is the last time the FDA or any federal agency lost a lawsuit?  Nope, that's not it.  As your article stated, the FDA was concerned about the Chinese sending over counterfit, and unreliable masks.  Trump was not concerned about the FDA being sued.  Please read up on the Federal Tort Claims Act.

Once again, Mister, when is Trump to follow the scientist's recommendations and when is he not?  I've noticed you dodging this question each day.

From the article you claimed to read: "But many hospitals have not been willing to order KN95 masks because of uncertainty over whether imports would be allowed into the United States, as well as potential liability if they turned out to be counterfeit."

The FDA needed to indemnify the hospitals by approving the masks.

Also, in the first two years of the Trump administration, they lost a minimum of 63 lawsuits, so there's that.

Mister, did the US government lose lawsuits or did individual American's lose lawsuits?  Those paying attention already know the answer, yet Mister does not.  By the way, the FDA doesn't have the authority to indemnify anything.

FDA approval means that hospitals cannot be sued for using non-FDA approved masks.

FDA approval means that masks will not be seized at customs for being non-FDA approved.

Our medical workers, our first responders, were starved of protective gear for over a month because of the FDA delay. SOME OF THEM DIED.

You must be so proud.

Mister P, you're wasting your time debating with these Trump-loving scum. They'll attack you relentlessly for pointing out their hero's failures.Logic and reason are lost on them.

Like Trump, they are horrible human beings and actively resist any kind of decency or integrity. Don't bother talking to these lice.

Um, you don't seem to be taking your own advice.

Oh my.  FDA approval does not mean that hospitals can't be sued.  The FDA gives drug approves and companies are sued often.  Once again, when is the president to listen to doctors and when is he not?

Okay, you're on the jury. The relatives of a deceased hospital employee sue for millions because their loved one died, and they allege it was because of a faulty mask. Then you learn that the mask was not FDA approved.

If you say that isn't going to sway you somewhat you are just lying.

So hospitals simply reacted to the incentives the Trump administration put in place. And medical workers died.
