Yet I support the idea of students (of all colors, mind you) being able to leave a public school and take his school money elsewhere.  The shitty Democrat run schools tend to spend $16,000 per student.  That kid can leave the shitty school and attend any private school of his choice.  Here's a real world example.  Indianapolis public schools spend $16,162 per student.  Students at the great Cathedal private school pay $16,390 including the activity fee.  I'm guessing that IPD also charges such a fee on top of the $16,162 expenditure.  In other words, the poor black kids, assuming he's willing to follow the private school rules and he's worked hard enough to be accepted, can leave the shitty Democrat school for the great private school...........and it wouldn't cost him a penny more.

Libs regulary fight against such policies.  BTW, my mostly great white town's schools spends less per student than Indianapolis public schools............which suck.  More proof of Liberals doubliong down on failed policies.

Can the handicapped and disabled kids attend those fancy private schools in your scheme?  Are the fancy private schools going to be forced to design their schools to accommodate them and even provide them, with full-time aides, like they do in public schools?

Your 16k number includes providing for kids with extreme needs. In other words, take those kids out of the equation like they do in private schools and the money a kid without impairments would have to spend at a private school would be a lot less than 16k a year.

This is even more BS.   Indiana already has charter schools thanks to the one-party Republican rule of the state.   They have no improvement of performance than the public system.

Charter Schools vs Public school performance

" The most rigorous studies conducted to date have found that charter schools are not, on average, better or worse in student performance than the traditional public school counterparts. This average result, however, obscures tremendous variation between individual charter schools and charter schools in different states."

What is true is red states treat their public schools like shit and dont fund them.   Rich kids go to private, well funded schools and poor kids go to Jim Crowe public schools.

The most and least educated states in America: Study | Fox Business

And thats what is in store for unplanned pergnancies in red states going forward.....more unadopted, uneducated kids that need to be raised by the state.    COngratulations on your massive Nanny-State investment.

This is exactly why Liberal policies almost always turn out terribly.  The current system sucks, and Mark posts a solvable detail for fucking up a great plan.  LET THE BLACK KID WHO'S WORKING HARD MOVE TO A NEW AND BETTER SCHOOL!

Here's why the inner city public schools suck.  By  the way, the private schools are not fancy.  Their facilities are built for learning and are frill free.  Subpar when compared to most public schools.  They often use offsite athletic fields because they don't have the money for a new football stadium.  Their priority is learning.

Here's why inner city schools fail.

1.  Kids and especially black kids, using the race card to wreak havoc on schools.  We had this problem in my town for several years when our superintendant forced teachers and administrators to cave to such false accusations.  That was fixed with a new super about a decade ago.  Virtually no kids are now unruly, and I'm confident that the black kids are getting a better education then when the schools feared false racial accusations.

2.  Mommy whines when the public school sends slutty suzy home because of her mini-skirt and low cut top.  The school caves.

3.  Our way or the highway, just like a private schools.  At Cathedral, there is no negotiation.  Follow the rules or your gone.  That's how it should be for public schools.

4.  Leaders, and especially black leaders need to push the correctness of two parent families.  They need to push for respect for others.  They need to tell kids it's horrible to get pregnant until, at minimum in a committed LONG TERM relationship (like marriage), and only when the parents can afford to raise kids.  Change how inner city people view having kids out of wedlock and with zero financial ability to have this kids.

Libs fight for all of the things that fuck up public learning.

Can't speak for Indiana, but the answer to your question in NYS is yes.

From the NY Post

In 2019 (the last full pre-COVID school year), less than half of all Grades 3-8 students were proficient in reading. Then the debacle of remote learning set back all kids, leaving Mayor Eric Adams and Chancellor David Banks a lot of damage to undo

NYS particularly NYC have charter schools.   Families fill out applications & are placed in the data base.  The students are then picked by lottery.  They vastly out perform the public schools.  The worst performing charter school was run by the teachers union (it may actually have closed by now)

NYC has around 900,000 students (amazingly the BOE isn't sure how many students they actually have)  Their budget is $37b for an average cost of $41k per student

And the stereotypes you use with black people are bullshit too. White people overwhelmingly make up the largest segment of people seeking abortions.

Abortion demographics

Pj's own link disproves his statement. White women who are 65% of the population get abortions but only 37% of the abortions, substantially less than their 65% of the population.  Black women who make up 13% have 28% of the abortions more than 2x their population. Hispanics are 18% of the population but 25% of the abortions.

we have less crime, less drugs, less school dropouts.

All wrong.  Crime is rising rapidly.  Drug use is increasing https://behavioralhealth-centers.com/blog/american-drug-use-trend-on-the-rise/

We may have less dropouts, only because public schools make it impossible to fail.  The better metric is performance.

NYS from the NY Post

Sadly, that includes the State Education Department and Board of Regents, who in recent years have focused on dropping standards across the board to conceal rather than heal the system’s failings. That’s produced rising high-school graduation rates even as remote learning left all too many kids actually learning far less. SEE ALSO Mayor Eric Adams delivers address on $99.7B 2023 NYC budget The SED’s new “alternative pathways to graduation” serve to confer diplomas on functional illiterates. Teens (especially ones with learning disabilities) get steered into paths where the system doesn’t have to address their problems learning to read.

Stupid racist Tommie-poo should be thrilled about abortion. Taking his figures as accurate (always a stretch, but...), if it was banned, there would be millions more black and brown people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tommie-poo should advocate for nationwide unrestricted abortion rights to keep these subhumans from reproducing! More black and brown people?? NOOOOOOOOOO!

The parents of children at 130 (and more coming) Indiana charter schools and 50,000 students agree that these charter schools offer their children an improved learning environment.  PJ and other Libs believe that they know better and that that Liberal administrators should be left in charge of the failed system that they have delivered.  It's obvious that Libs do not want to give parents/children a choice.  Libs believe that we just need more of the failed policy.

PJ complains that poor and brown children are in crappy schools, then PJ complains when 50,000 of these children are allowed to move to a good schools.  How Liberal of you.

In Indiana, low and middle income kids can take their public school money to any school.............those called Charter or othe private schools, Catholic, for example.  This had grown dramatically over the past decade.

Anyone who doesn't know the basic rules of capitalization has no business complaining about the quality of education kids receive.

And anyone who brings up charter schools in a thread that is about abortion rights is getting soft in the head.

50,000 in Indiana have voted against the education that they were receiving.  It's obvious that Kevin and other Libs want to squash this vote.  It's obvious that Kevin hates choice, unless the choice is a woman killing a child.

Losers fighting for losers.

Really, I give a shit about what Cons (I think I'll imitate your stupid spelling errors!) in Indiana are trying to pull?
