EU vs US on COVID

I've noticed that the Liberal rags don't talk about deaths, as this is going down.  Let's look at some interesting data from Indiana.

In the first week of testing only 800 tests were being done per day.  Three weeks later, 2700 tests per day.  three weeks later, 4400 tests per day, three weeks later 5600 tests, then 7000, then 9500.  20% of those who were tested early on were positive.  This has shrunk to only 4% of those being tested this week are testing positive.  Positive cases test results are increasing because we're doing 10 times the testing than we did early on.  Many positive cases were not being confirmed along the way, while now most are.  Anyone can now get tested in every state, I believe, so more positives are being found.

While positive cases in Indiana is down about 50% from the peak, deaths are down about 85%.  Why?  Because actual corona positives have decreased more than 50% Indiana.  Other states are seeing the same.

"Other states are seeing the same." Nope.

The number of tests is NOT driving the increased numbers of positives:

Top 10 (last 2 weeks)

       Cases  Tests

FL.   71%.   -12%

AZ.  72%.   25%

NV.  50%.  -28%

OK.  53%.   125%

ID.    83%.   17%

SC.  169%. 43%

GA.  55%.   17%

UT.   39%. -10%

TX.   78%.   25%

KS.   48%.    7%

Well, I'm sure that Boiler will say, "Wow, I guess I was wrong, and that statement I pulled out of my ass was total bullshit. I only said it to support Trump."

Within the hour.

Testing is only an indicator of whether one is infected. It is not a prevention, medication or treatment for the virus. Human interaction is the cause for the increase in the number of people getting infected. Blame the increases in the number of infections on people.

I can't argue with that.

But some places are doing a much better job of it when their governments influence or even control certain aspects of human behavior. For example, South Korea, population 50,000,000, has reported fewer than 300 deaths.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that leadership matters.

As I stated before and you ignored - you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make "em drink. Giving people the tools to stop the virus will do no one any good if people will not use the tools.

It also matters very, very much whether you encourage or discourage people from using those tools.

Millions of idiots haven't been wearing masks because Trump refuses to.

Millions more haven't been observing social distancing because Trump doesn't.

Those people think that Covid-19 is no big deal--because Trump told them it isn't.

I only looked at South Carolina.  While the cherry picked data shows a 169% increase in positive tests............May 1 to now...........what do you think has happened to deaths?  Wow, they are down over 20%.  It should also be noted that the percentage of positives in people being tested has increase in South Carolina from 7% to nearly 20% recently.

Nice job of cherry picking, but deaths are decreasing in South Carolina, the only state that I researched today from the list above.

Please explain folks.

Liars never can provide proof.

Yep, that is why Arizona has a 23% positive rate, and they running out of hospital beds. In Houston they are already out of hospital beds.

Remember how conservatives bitched and moaned NY sent nursing home residents back to their home? Guess what? Now that Texas is a dumpster fire, they are sending adult COVID-19 patients to a children's hospital that is full of as you might have guessed sick children.

I am sure Tom, David and Bolier will be on that like stink on shit because they aren't hypocrites. Are they?

Oh, and Boiler, that infection went from Farbest Foods to the local nursing homes. The one hospital in the area is full.

Trump and his Republican lackeys are killing people. We can quibble about the statistics until hell freezes over. The simple fact remains that people are dying, and in Texas, Florida, and other states whose governors are subservient Trump slaves, it is the direct result of those governors' negligence.

The one silver lining is that these people will be held to account. But sadly, not until a LOT of people die from the Trump virus.
