Mister Tough Guy starts a war

Der Fuhrer's last 3 postings here -- 1) Lame, 2) lame and 3) Lame.

Kevin Lewis inquires:  "My God, you and Stalker consider the deaths of 56 people to be good news just because they're Iranian?"

Umm, not explicitly.

DonDiego supposes way-back-when the area was known as Persia, poor old DonDiego would've harbored no ill feelings toward the residents whatsoever.

In fact, it was a most productive empire, as empires go, . . . what with great roads and well-developed trade routes.

And a reasonably decent religion - Zoroastrianism, which the Empire's leaders wisely did not force upon others - even those whom they conquered.

And they were productive - left behind a lot of grand architecture and metalwork . . .  and rugs, don't forget the rugs!

But Alexander the Great put a dent in all that glory, . . . .

And now, . . .

If thousands of angry Iranians are demonstrating in the streets against the United States and they accidently kill one another, poor old DonDiego is not about to mourn their passing.

n.b. Poor old DonDiego is not demonstrating in the streets against them !

Oh, . . . another pleasant surprise !

The assassination of Iran's top General was actually a twofer.

In 1983  an Iraqi man called Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis car-bombed the US Embassey in Kuwait.

Mr. al-Muhandis met Qasem Soleimani at the Baghdad Airport.  He was in the car when the missile hit.

Boiler loves $10 a gallon gas.

I don't particularly mourn their passing, but I'm sure not CELEBRATING it!

What Trump did is what he does best--stir up hate. An entire country hates our guts now. A few years ago, during the Obama administration, relations were improving. Trump sure fucked that up!

The major difference is that then, the average Iranian citizen was favorably disposed toward America, the ruling regime's stance notwithstanding. The Orange Bully has made sure that every Iranian hates us.

And the chest-thumping bully-boy Trumpers think that's a positive development!!

Another act of war, without Congressional approval? And don't tell me that Trump has unlimited carte blanche because of that 2002 law.

And aside from the fact that it will give Trump an erection, what good would such destruction accomplish?

Yep - another military escalation in the Middle East.  ANd the same people who cheered for the last one are doing so again.    And while they cry about the cost of food stamps they'll turn yet another blind eye to the cost of this endeavor (not to mention the fact its other peoples kids in the crosshairs).

When you elect chicken-hawk cowards to run the country you get careless wars and a fiscal mess to boot.   We learned that in 2000  and here we go again.
