Ohio train derailment

Tell me Re-Todd, what major derailment with Trump’s transportation secretary need to run to?

Even Fox News--I know, who can believe them after the depositions were made public--said that neither Trump or his Transportation Secretary visited any of several train derailments, some with fatalities, while he was in office.  Amazing, isn't it, how your bias leads you to conveniently "forget" uncomfortable facts.

This incident is quickly becoming the next Bengazhi.    And its also quickly becoming a litigation grab.

Disclaimer:  I support a full and thourough investigation which holds any and all parties responsible to the full extent of the law.

But there is alot of alarmist rhetoric going on that is unwarranted at this time.   People of the area are comparing it to Chernyobyl and Love Canal.    Uh, no.   Sorry.    I grew up in Western New York.   Its still unsafe to live in Love Canal 40 years later.   And Chernyobyl?  Really?     They are drinking the ground water in East Palestine 3 weeks later.    You wont find anyone doing that in the aforementioned sites 3-4 decades later.

Also, I dont doubt people have suffered some legitimate ill effects from the exposure to the incident especially in the first few days.   And the long term impact needs to be medically monitored.     But theres also alot of ambulance chasing going on.  People with non-diagnosable  or petty symptoms like "dizziness" or "I feel tired" or "I got a bloody nose".  OK then.   Better call Saul.

Meanwhile FOX News and Republicans are playing the Bengazhi   playbook with Pete Buttigieg just like they did with Susan Rice and Hillary Clinton.     If there is any inkling of Pete B running is for president in 2024 McCarthy will strike up a year of hearings about East Palestine and what Pete B knew and when he knew it and how come he didnt stop it ..... stay tuned.

Does anyone but me know what the change in rail regulation involved?  Does anyone other than me know if this crash would have been prevented if the regulations were still in place?

No and no.  Why, because I did some research and you guys regurgitate the Liberal sprew.

Fox News knows!!!

FoxNews: "Regulations regarding train safety were changed during the Trump administration. This particular railroad and others lobbied President Trump to dismantle an Obama-era rule that would have required railroads to update their braking systems."

Oil was not being transported on the derailed train.

But it is deja-BP-Oil-spill all over again.

According to FOX News, Pete Buttigieg was driving the train and made it derail.  Its all his fault - not the railroad.

And its also a reminder of the need for better infrastructure including upgraded rail lines that people on the right say is a big waste of money.     Those shovels get into the ground this spring.    And you can bet JD Vance will be at the ribbon cutting ceremony

PJ, is oil more safely transported by rail or pipeline?

Because pipelines cost huge sums of money, including for maintenance after they start operating, block other uses of the land they're on (roads, housing, etc.), and are by no means immune from spills and leakage--and an oil pipeline spill is far, far worse than a rail car spill--in the latter case, the amount of oil spilled is finite, and much smaller.

You would have thought that Boiler would have learned about choo-choos during his four years in kindergarten.

Kevin, when did you last see a pipeline?

I'm quite sure I dont know....further, I still dont understand what it has to do with this thread.    Further, I dont understand who you are pretending to argue with.   But thanks for stopping by !

Okay, I've confirmed that Mister doesn't know that Obama's law would not have made a difference in this crash.  Others want to give it a try?

After a few more of you prove to have not done solid research, I'll explain the truth.
