Putting Chicago violence in perspective

I bet Obama was insulted for being educated many times as a young man.

Well gosh, I bet Vatican City has a lower murder rate than Chicago too!

But stop being a coward and deal with what I pointed out. Namely, Gary Indiana has triple the murder rate of Chicago. And Illinois has much stricter gun laws. How about that?

55 people shot this past weekend in chicago, including 2 cops. 

But Gary, Indiana, with much more lax gun laws, has triple the murder rate. Why aren't you guys tracking that?*

Why isn't mp tracking the Evansville murder rate which is 1/3rd that of chicago?

That's all poor old DonDiego needs to know.  He's stayin' in Tennessee.

Cities by definition are higher crime because they are more highly diversified.     They tend to harbor people of all incomes, colors, religions, gender, and orientation.    And that comes with plenty of pros and cons.   People who live in cities tend to embrace that diversity with all the goods and bads which is why they tend to elect mayors who do too....which is why you dont see many Republican mayors in big cities.

But for fun we can open a homeless shelter, released immate housing, and shelters with vets suffering from PTSD and put it right smack in the middle of DonDIego's segregated all-white, all-financially comfortable, gated subdivision in the suburbs and we can see what happens to crime there.     Not gonna happen because Republicans make sure those kinds of places dont exist in their zipcode....so they kick back and drink their martinis are ridicule the rabble in the cities that do.

The best part is they then preted like Nancy Pelosi is the elitist because she likes fancy ice cream.

Poor old DonDiego does not care for martinis.  Luckily there's a variety of beers available in his supermarkets.

Today Chicago recorded its 500th murder this year.  

So PJ, are you saying you wouldn't mind living in a neighborhood where there are 67 murders within 2 miles of Casa PJ?  And I'm pretty sure Pelosi ain't having that either.  After all, besides ice cream she needs to get her hair done.

Your suggestions may be part of a long term solution, but at a rate of over 60 victims per month, your ideas won't even slow down the carnage.  Try again.
