So what? Obviously, they were wrong.
Perhaps a difference between preparedness for a pandemic of a known disease versus a novel one? This one was totally unknown. And I don't buy that certain other countries were so much more "prepared" than the U.S. Just me, I don't buy it. Does anyone know what is involved in developing a lab test for anything? It is very complex and doesn't happen overnight, requires multiple testing of reagents for accuracy, instrumentation, collection methods, storage of samples. Let us stop this obsession with who was faster at this or that, it doesn't help anything at this point.
Actually, Candy, who may be handling this better is actually extremely critical information. We're all involuntary participants in an experiment where there's not nearly enough data. We need to know what's working and what isn't.
One bright spot is that the virus operates pretty much the same everywhere (despite horrible racist comments to the contrary by Limbaugh et al.). So all data are potentially useful. We have to solve this using that tool that Republicans hate--science.
We are now #1 worldwide. When this is all said and done, COVID-19 will go down as the biggest disaster in American History. While it was unavoidable that some American's were going to get infected, the wildfire like spread across the country could have been prevented with competent leadership.
Actually the biggest disaster in American History is the liberal brainwashing of America's youth. We are only beginning to see and feel the effects. Remember DemocRats , you have unleashed this epidemic on America, for these idiots are our future leaders. God help us.
Another Mark misstatement.
The biggest American disaster was the Civil War where 600,000+ were killed, which was 5% of the population or the equivalent of 15 million today.
We are presently at 1,200.

What I don't understand is why our government is still sitting on its hands. We haven't ramped up production of protective gear. Several manufacturers have said that they need updated guidelines from the government because of liability concerns, but those haven't been supplied.
Also...why hasn't the military been deployed? They have millions of personnel, an advanced and highly trained medical structure...and they're already dispersed throughout the country. Why isn't our Jerkass in Chief ordering them to help?
Could it be that even now, Trump is thinking solely about his reelection prospects and doesn't want to take drastic action for fear that those prospects would be hurt?
David, you prattle on about some bullshit liberal brainwashing when our hospitals can't function because of the number of patients, we don't have ventilators for the sick and we don't have protective gear for medical staff. If your house was on fire, you would sit inside while it burned screaming at the TV about whatever bullshit was running on FOX News at that moment.

He said "will," doofus. And the Civil War lasted four years. The current disaster has been in progress for less than a month.
What idiotic point were you trying to make? Are you being a Trumper and parroting the Orange Asshole's statements that it's all no big deal and everything will be just swell real soon?
