REI has been planning the move for quite some time. Multiple stories on that topic have appeared in the Business section of the Oregonian. That's an actual news source, you idiot fuck. Here's the reality: Portland ranks just below average in both violent crime (21.7, with a national average of 22.7) and property crime (302.5, with a national average of 312). It ranks 21st among US cities of a million or more in their metro areas.
