Whole Foods Closes In San Francisco

They had been planning to shut it down for three years

Proof?

downtown REI was by far the least profitable of the five, due to a location away from major thoroughfares and a severe lack of parking.

The reality.  Extensive theft makes stores unprofitable.

After 20 years of business, REI confirmed it will close its downtown Portland, Ore., location in early 2024 amid increased crime in the store’s Pearl District neighborhood.

REi invested $800,000 in security & they were still being robbed.  REI has 2 other stores (not 4) in the area; the nearest almost 9 miles away.

From kevin

It's too nice of a place

https://www.neighborhoodscout.com/or/portland/crime

Their crime index is 1; which means that 99% of US cities are safer

There are FOUR REIs in the Portland metro area. The downtown one is closing because it's not making as much money as the others. This is due to poor access and very limitd parking.

Stupid Tommie-poo cherry-picks data, which is simply lying. The crime stats for a single neighborhood--one-fifth of a square mile--cannot be honestly extrapolated to the entirety of Portland.

Whatever stupid Tommie-poo says means nothing.

There are FOUR REIs in the Portland metro area.

The REI site lists 3 stores, one of which is closing.  Who should we believe; REI or Kevin?

The downtown one is closing because it's not making as much money as the others. This is due to poor access and very limitd parking

REI says they are closing the store due to high crime.  Why is that statement so difficult for you to understand?

The crime stats for a single neighborhood--one-fifth of a square mile--cannot be honestly extrapolated to the entirety of Portland.

Again kevin shows he can't read.  The link I posted was for the entire city of Portland; which said only 1% of American cities are more dangerous than Portland

kevin is truly stupid

Stupid Tommie-poo doesn't know the communities the Portland metro area consists of. Hint: that includes Vancouver.

REI has been planning the move for quite some time. Multiple stories on that topic have appeared in the Business section of the Oregonian. That's an actual news source, you idiot fuck. The reason they have given multiple times is low profitability. Your "source" was a middle manager at the closing store. Nobody else at the company even mentioned crime rates.

"NeighborhoodScout"'s figures have no actual source and cannot be corroborated. That 1% "statistic" is a complete falsehood. I notice that stupid Tommie-poo didn't use an actual news source. Here's the reality: Portland ranks just below average in both violent crime (21.7, with a national average of 22.7) and property crime (302.5, with a national average of 312). It ranks 21st among US cities of a million or more in their metro areas.

You latched onto a worthless source and believed it implicity because it said what you wanted to hear. You lied.

Stupid Tommie-poo. Stick to what little you actually know, and don't bother to try to bolster your idiot arguments with links to fake "news" sources.

BTW, I used the FBI's 2022 crime rate stats to refute and school stupid, lying Tommie-poo. They're easily accessible. Of course, if your "research" consists of scraping the bottom of the internet to find some hack website that use bogus figures to draw a predetermined conclusion, you won't find out the simple truth.

Stupid, lying Tommie-poo.

Your "source" was a middle manager at the closing store. Nobody else at the company even mentioned crime rates.

kevin is shameless in his lies.  Here is what the Boiler posted

https://www.yahoo.com/news/portland-rei-close-due-record-211247568.html

The company emailed REI members to explain that the location could no longer guarantee the safety of employees and patrons

Should we believe REI or kevin?

I used the FBI's 2022 crime rate stats

Another lie as the FBI as not released it's data for 2022

Another ranking Portland near the bottom

Since kevin cannot even come close to the truth; there is no point to continue this discussion.

This never was a discussion. It was you forming a preconceived conclusion and bleatug lies to support it. You never used a legitimate news source for your bogus statistics.

But we get it. You hate Portland. You bought into the conservitard propaganda about the city. It started when you believed the nonsense that the BLM protests leveled the city. Ooooookay. Don't move there. Why keep whining about it?

I live there. I read the actual news. I know better than you. Now, piss off.

Stupid lying Tommie-poo.

You constantly portray Portland as some sort of paradise.  Maybe from the view in your basement it is.

But you said REI was moving due to parking & I proved you lied with quotes from REI.

You lied about the number of stores in Portland.  I showed the REI website with the real number

You lied when you said you quoted FBI stats from 2022 when they haven't been released.

I posted several sources showing the crime issue of Portland.  As usual when faced with facts you don't like you call them lies.

bleatug

Can the alleged English major explain the above word?  Or are you an economics major or an accounting major or a tax expert today?   I know it must be a challenge keeping all your stories straight

"bleatug" -- I looked this "word" up and found no such word in the English language - Apparently Lewis made a (Heaven forbid) "mistake", and as everyone knows he likes to call out others and call them derogatory names when they make a similar "mistake".

I mistyped. That's much different from you or Millerscum not knowing that you've misspelled a word.

I refuted you when I exposed your "1%" lie. Your "defense" was to tell us the FBI doesn't exist. I challenge you to find a legitimate news source that ranks Portland that low. Of course, you'll weasel.

I'm also not going to bother to post excerpts from all the Oregonian's stories about REI. That's where I get my info--not some conservitard blogger's website.

But I thought you were done with this "discussion"?? Stick to your stupid lies and idiotic beliefs. Don't come to Portland. We don't need your kind here--you nasty, unpleasant conservitard old man.

Parking and access suddenly got worse?  That's rich BS.

How long was REI in downtown Portland, Kevin, I why the sudden parking problem?  Kevin tells us that people aren't fleeing Portland due to crime, homelessness, taxes, and fucked up government.  Then why in the world are people fleeing Portland, Kevin?
