Parking and access suddenly got worse? That's rich BS.
How long was REI in downtown Portland, Kevin, I why the sudden parking problem? Kevin tells us that people aren't fleeing Portland due to crime, homelessness, taxes, and fucked up government. Then why in the world are people fleeing Portland, Kevin?
Yes, actually, they did get worse, due to construction and changes in access on 23rd Street, the primary access route in and out of the Pearl District. And a municipal parking lot nearby was closed, reducing nearby parking to that available on the street. The lot had been usable ever since the REI opened. I visit that area frequently, and lately, it's been a traffic nightmare. It's the reason why I go to a different Trader Joe's than the one on 23rd, even though that one is close.
I'm not going to allow you to use the word "fleeing." It's prejudicial and inaccurate. People leave cities all the time, for a myriad of reasons. They also move INTO cities, for a myriad of reasons.
PLEASE TELL US WHY, IF SO MANY PEOPLE ARE "FLEEING" PORTLAND, THE CITY'S POPULATION HAS INCREASED BY 23,000 OVER THE PAST YEAR.
Or weasel and don't admit you're full of shit, as you usually do.
