I only read your first sentence. What's the agenda for not reporting death data.
There is no "agenda." Except that of Trump and his lackeys.

The economy is the most important stat, trumping positive cases and deaths. That has nothing to do with the Liberal rags hiding data from citizens.
It's such a horrid thing to say that money is more important than human lives---I'm just dumbfounded. All I can say in response is, thank God there aren't more people like you.

Relative to the pandemic and how it applies to me, death data isn't as informative as new case data. The number of Covid deaths is an extension of the number of new cases, confounded somewhat by those vulnerability stats, e.g. age, underlying conditions. But every Covid death starts with a new case.
Not that I am uncaring about the sadness of relatives and friends of those who are taken by Covid-19.
The deaths data is an expression of what things were like about a month ago, as the timeline from exposure to incubation to developing symptoms to seeking treatment to finally succumbing spans several weeks. Therefore, deaths is NOT the most important data set right now.
We need to know just how grossly dangerous, ineffective, and irresponsible all the Republican-driven "opening up," as well as the "hell, no, we won't lock down" policies have been. New case data is a reflection of actual exposure and infection in the prior 2-3 weeks. So what we're learning right now is that all the kidlings' beach parties and the Generation Whatever's rush to the bars were, collectively, a terrible idea.
And this statement may twist Trumper panties, but we also needed to know for certain whether the Trumpian "it will all magically go away" narrative was a crock of shit. We knew it likely was, but it's important to gather the data to prove it.
My chart shows Nevada deaths at 495, close enough to your stats.
NY deaths 24,800. Is that close to what you've found?
My paper said US deaths (as of yesterday) were 124,402.
Does that compute with what you found?
Of course all these will be higher tomorrow. My state has already added 9 today.

What pays for a heart surgery, for food, for a roof, for shoes, for an education? Without money, without an economy, we have none of these things. Kevin wouldn't know, as he's been sucking money out of other's wallets his entire life. No more free shit for you.
Why is the NY times not report deaths?
Call them. Or write a letter to the editor. If my little state can publish these stats daily, why not the NYT?
I guess I'm not getting the point of your concern.

The NY Times has a national audience and is largely considered the most influencial paper in the country. It's the only paper that I know that's publishing national data, but maybe your paper is doing a good job.
You say that you're not getting my point. Isn't this entire thing about deaths, or isn't it the most important data? What is more important in this fight with corona?
Okay Kevin, I'll clarify. No money, no one eats and everyone dies.

The economy is shutting back down because of the infection and hospitalization rate... Which is an issue specific to the United States in the industrialized world. And it’s a reflection of our poor leadership relative to the countries that have been able to squash it down.
and it suddenly makes you really uncomfortable to address
we are now going to need another round of Venezuela checks and free shit for corporate America because our president thinks only pussies wear masks and has made fighting the virus a partisan issue. But it’s true that fewer people are dying now. So enjoy the new location of your goal post.
Someone needs a snuggle...
