2014***ObamaCare***2014

If one is sick and in poor health, then Obamacare will save that person money. I recall many (more likely all) Liberals telling me that the balance of us would never be forced to pay higher premiums. Genius Obama was certain to find enough savings to cover those without insurance....................blah, blah, blah.

Many of us understood that these supposed savings were bull shit all along.

In the Republican Response to the State of the Union (no, not that one - the other one...no, the other one) Republican Congresswoman Rodgers referenced a woman whose premiums were going to skyrocket by an additonal $700/month because of the new law.

Reporters tracked down the woman in question (her name is Bette) and it turns out she could easily get broader insurance with lower premiums at a savings of over $350/month compared to her previous plan. But Bette hates Obama so thought it would be more in her self interest to go uncovered.

Bless Bette's poor, oppressed heart. And Obama be damned for offereing her superior insurance at a massive discount.

Oh, and I claimed all along that this was another wealth redistribution program, and virtually all Liberals claimed "bull shit". It turns out I was correct and that the liberals were either stupid, liars, or stupid liars.
Yes, it is more corporate welfare.

Another "tried and true" program of one group paying while another group takes. Strange thing, all of those baby boomers are starting to retire..... How does one pay things like:

Medicare
Social Security
and now Obama Care

with these people OUT of the work force?

I guess it depends where you get your information from: someone that hates Obama or the actual published rates of insurance on the exchanges.

I have a good friend who owns a small "S Corporation". He has three employees including he and his wife. Here's his personal experience as of one week ago.

Before ACA
Insurance at United Security PPO
Family of 3
100% co pay after deductible
$7500 deductible per family
$570 premium per month

After AHCA (cheapest I could find that was comparable)
Insurance at Blue Cross Blue Shield
PPO Bronze 06 plan
100% co pay
$12,750 deductible per family
$6000 deductible per individual
$853 premium per month

So…premium increased 50% ($283)
Deductible increased 58% ($5,250)

Okay PJ, Nick's premiums increased $3400 for the year and his deductable increased by $5000. Who get this money?

Here's my answer. I don't believe you.

First of all, there isn't a single Obamacare family plan in the country that has a $12,750 deductible or out-of-pocket. Not a single one in the entire USA. Someone is lying or making a mistake.

Also, United Security doesn't even offer a PPO in Indiana, and they specialize in gimmicky junk insurance like cancer insurance, and "hospital indemnity" which pays you a couple hundred for every day you're in the hospital. So go away and come back when you have real numbers, and the actual title of the United Security policy, along with the state, county, ages of family members, and their income (optional).

Congresswoman Rodgers shamed herself when she described an Obamacare "victim" who turned out to be a Benghazi crazed ideologue who refused to even shop on the ACA marketplace. Her story was debunked within hours, and I suspect your story will be debunked within minutes (healthcare.gov now flies!). That is if you come back with the necessary information to make a non-bullshit comparison. But you're not going to do that, are you?
Lots of old insurance policies stayed cheap by
(1) not covering much;
(2) excluding people with pre-existing conditions from the risk pool; and
(3) having lifetime caps.

Now, every policy:
(1) covers pretty much everything;
(2) is available to everyone, healthy and sick; and
(3) has no lifetime caps.

Remember that when comparing apples to oranges.

This sounds like the Marriage Penalty I have described previously and am also subject to. Husband/Wife businesses are no longer eligible to get Group Insurance as of 2014...due to the ACA. It is quite possible he's seeing substantial premium increases as he's moving from the Group Market to the Individual Market. He merely has to divorce his wife, make her an employee of the S Corp, and issue a W2 for her. Then he can Keep his plan...Just Like President Obama promised.

Where did he say his friend lived in Indiana?
