How much will it cost if the family earns more like $400,000 annually?

And going to healthcare.gov, and choosing Family Coverage >> Health >> Illinois >> Cook or Du Page counties >> Person #1 age: 54 >> Person #2 age: 53 >> Person #3 age: 19 >> No employer health coverage available >> $100,000 income (no subsidy available), here is the OBAMACARE price:

So Boilerman's friend is clearly a very dishonest person. And in Illinois, his previous insurance company specializes in junk insurance (Cancer Product... "medical treatment is not requiraed!")

Still think this is the marriage penalty, alanleroy?

Same. If he made $1,000,000? Same. That is the unsubsidized price.

So I'm beginning to suspect that your friend is a dishonest sleaze? You have another explanation?

Uh-Oh!

The The Washington Post headline reads: "Labor Union Officials Say Obama Betrayed Them in Health-care Rollout"

Obama ??? Betrayed ??? The Unions??? Say it isn't so!

“We want to hold the president to his word: If you like your health-care coverage, you can keep it, and that just hasn’t been the case,” said Donald “D.” Taylor, president of Unite Here, the union that represents about 400,000 hotel and restaurant workers and provided a crucial boost to Obama by endorsing him just after his rival Hillary Rodham Clinton had won the New Hampshire primary.

Taylor and Terry O’Sullivan, president of the Laborers’ International Union of North America, laid out their grievances this week in a terse letter to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.), saying they are “bitterly disappointed” in the administration.

A White House spokeswoman declined to comment on the union leaders’ claims that they were misled. A person familiar with Obama’s meeting with the labor chiefs said he “listened to the group’s concerns with empathy” but explained that the law would not permit the administration to take the steps they requested.

Part of the terse letter reads:
"Once we realized the ACA [i.e. Obamacare] would not let us keep the health care we had, we spent three years presenting the Administration with reasonable fixes to the ACA's [i.e. Obamacare's] problems. All of them were rejected and the proposed regulations offer virtually no assistance toward any of these solutions."

Wait a minute! The unions knew three years ago that they couldn't keep their health care plans. And He-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed wouldn't help them. Holly-Molly, . . . what's a union guy gotta do nowadays to get something fixed?

DonDiego feels the Unions' pain.
I totally agree President Obama should have never made that statement about keeping your insurance if you like it. Not to worry. In a couple of years when Hillary, who is way tougher than Obama ever thought about being, gets in office she will straighten it all out.

We all know There's no bigger advocate of Unions than Don Diego.

I thought the president was in the back pocket of Unions. Well, actually it turns put he's reigning in those outlandish, expensive Union benefit plans that righties like Don Diego have been complaining about for years. What are righties supposed to do?! Defend unions or Obama? I believe thats what you call a rock/hard-place scenario. I'm glad Don Diego cleared up the correct path to take on this one.
Obamacare was screwed up when the computers came online.

Obamacare is still screwed up.

"The system is not set up to go into someone’s account and correct a mistake.”
Huh!
"The system is not set up to go into someone’s account and correct a mistake.”

This is the response from the humans serving on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the agency that oversees HealthCare.gov, "Advanced resolution Team" to another human, Addie Wilson of Fairmont, WV.
Ms. Wilson had difficulty signing up - Healthcare.gov would no allow her to select the plan she wanted. A human working for CMS assisted her, but also could not enroll her in the selected plan, . . . so she advised her to enroll in another plan for which she would qualify for a subsidy, but the computer refused to calculate the subsidy.
So the adviser told her to pay the total bill.
She did. And she still is. Because the "system" cannot fix it.

"Tens of thousands of people who discovered that HealthCare.gov made mistakes as they were signing up for a health plan are confronting a new roadblock: The government cannot yet fix the errors."

Remember Peyton's look when the snapped football sailed over his head. I bet that's the same look that Boilerman had when he realized his friend Nick was a lying sleaze.

ObamaCare's work disincentives will reduce employment levels by the equivalent of 2 million full-time jobs by 2017, the Congressional Budget Office [CBO] said Tuesday.
. . . the CBO now estimates [Obamacare's impact on work] to be three times as large as it supposed in 2010

CBO explained that the Affordable Care Act's subsidy structure — subsidies fall as income rises — makes work "less attractive."
Further, some people who earn right around 400% of the poverty level — the cutoff for subsidies — will have an incentive to earn less. This will be especially true for older workers who will pay up to three times as much as young workers for similar coverage via the ObamaCare exchanges.

Wait a minute! If the Government gives gives people a subsidy, they will work less???
Who'd a thunk it?
Whoa! Stop the press! The CBO is now a credible group to measure the impact of the Affordable Care Act? Someone needs to call Washington and let the leaders know Don Diego has given the CBO his blessing.

But, yeah, the CBO predicts people who only work for access to health care will now have the freedom to get that healthcare outside of a work environment....and the CBO also predicts the new health law will lower the deficit instead of adding to it. More access...less debt....its like a lose/lose situation isnt it?
According to the CBO Report:

  • Obamacare will reduce the supply of labor, NOT jobs.
  • Obamacare will cost less than anticipated.
  • Obamacare will add to the economy by increasing aggregate demand for goods and services.
  • The "bailout" provision that DonDiego has been whining about? It will turn a profit for the US Treasury.

Anyone want to challenge me on any of the above? I've got the CBO report right in front of me.
