'57 vs '13

“Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.”
- Mother Teresa

"The past is already gone, the future is not yet here. There's only one moment for you to live, and that is the present moment. -Buddha

Scenario 9:
Cranky old guy complains about everything, longs for "the good old days".
1957 - Has no forum to air his many grievances, family has tuned him out long ago. Sits alone and bitches to no one.
2013 - Get's on the internet and shares misery with other cranky old men, feels relevant.

Sounds like a huge upgrade for cranky old guys.

51...for once you and I agree on something -

Reading this simpleminded post reminded me of something cool that just happened:

1959 (approx): Homer Hickam of October Sky and Rocket Boys fame sets off rockets with a few of his high school friends, a nearby forest fire occurs, and they are erroneously arrested for causing it. .

2013: Before science class, 16-year old Kiera Wilmot causes a minor explosion involving aluminum and toilet bowl cleaner, is then arrested, suspended, and sent to an alternate school. But, she then receives a scholarship for herself and and her twin sister to the United States Advanced Space Academy (Space Camp) paid for by - Homer Hickam.
scenerio #10: 2013- Three know it alls do their normal hatchet job while, once again, demonstrating their ignorance of reality. More to come...

Make it four Dr.Pill !
Johnny?
If anyone has watched the Jay Leno show, aren't you all in amazement of the lack of knowledge that the people on the street have when it comes to pretty common knowledge questions? What do they teach in school nowadays? It seems that no one ever gets any geography questions correct. I'm not claiming that I was an "A" student, but even I can answer most of the questions Leno asks!
